They showed Ghostbusters Afterlife during the panel today… I feel bad for the people behind me who bailed in line because they thought it would just be the panel.
Did they show the whole movie? If so, what did you think.
Publishers Weekly article says the attendance was around 150,000 this year:You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
The question to be asked is how do they count attendees. 150,000 would be more than SDCC in July. I'm pretty sure NYCC is NOT bigger than SDCC. I don't think they go by each individual. I think they just count attendees per each day.On the plus side, this is positive spin, and I'm in favor of that.
I think NYCC has always counted the number of badges sold.
I thought NYCC had always claimed to be bigger than SDCC.
Maybe, but I've never seen their proof. Do they count attendees the same way as SDCC? If NYCC was bigger, they would sell out just as fast as SDCC (IMO). Maybe even faster. That hasn't been the case. In 2019 (before the pandemic) fri, sat, and sunday sold out, but NOT thursday..I'm not trying to throw shade on NYCC. I just think they're trying to spin it that way because they want people to think there's no way NY can be beaten. (I'm a New Yorker. I know the attitude. . )
