Damn, he's good.  He's only of those artists that it takes a while to get, but one they do...  :)   Myself included.

sdcomicfest On this day 25 years ago, Jack Kirby passed away at age 77.

After spending his life creating worlds that inspired countless people, the King of Comics was gone. But even in death, Jack is more alive than ever.

It is almost impossible to walk down the street without someone wearing a shirt with one of Kirby's characters. If he wasn't your favorite artist, then he was probably your favorite artist's favorite artist. Stories are told of his kindness to the community. It is wonderful to see his name in the credits of huge blockbuster films.

Two years ago, San Diego Comic Fest celebrated the centennial of Jack Kirby. It was wonderful to hear so many people share their enthusiasm for his work. Many of his friends and collaborators shared amazing stories about their time with him.

Kirby is gone, but he will never be forgotten. His legacy is immortal.

Long live Jack Kirby, the King of Comics

I'll forever be grateful to Pat Lee and Dreamwave Productions for bringing Transformers back into comics in the early 2000's. He brought the modern look to Transformers that others have followed.I believe Hasbro even started using his artwork on the boxes of their toys.
