It went slow and was a clustereff.

I passed by the really long line this morning and inquired perple in the line. A person arrived at 0930 and was still in line at 1200!  I spoke to another person towards the end of the line that arrived at 1130.  He was told as long as you line up before 12 then you should be good to get the minifigure.  Why is it taking so long to pick up 1 figure? Dies anybody know if they ran out before the end if the line?

Regarding picking up our LEGO Exclusives.... do we need to do anything special beforehand (ie, pick up a wristband or physical ticket in advance)? Or just show up at the LEGO booth during our assigned time slot with the printed out confirmation? Is it a good idea to show up to the LEGO booth early before our assigned time, or are we fine as long as we get there any time during our time slot?

I didn't see any additional instructions for LEGO, but I've never gotten an exclusive from them before so just want to be safe! Thanks in advance.

For me, I simply got in line, waited about 20min, showed my confirmation from my iPhone (ie, no printout) and my SDCC badge, and I bought my exclusive (LEGO Millennium Falcon Cockpit) . Overall 25 min process. Painless.

They were literally checking people off with a printed off list and a highlighter. Two people doing this. I think they were also trying to clear the zig zag line before they got to those of us in the marina but it would have been nice to know it. It was just not good. I don’t think they ran out, they had plenty of unopened boxes by the time I got mine.

I got a drink afterwards. It was nicely needed.

At what time did you go?
What was your timeframe?
When I waited with a friend on Thursday to buy exclusive it took 1-1/2 hours.

I also think folks might be confusing the mini fig & purchasing the exclusive discussions.
I understand the mini fig line this morning took a good couple of hours for those that got there around 10.

Yeah, mine was for the exclusive, NOT the minifig. I had a 1:30-3:30 timeslot, and I got there around 2:45 and was done before 3:15. But I overheard one LEGO rep say as long as you’re there that day, they’ll honor your lottery slot. But take that with a grain of salt. Maybe it was just her that would honor it, and it wasn’t a global policy.

All,

I have a Gold Vegeta Funko Pop in hand.  I would trade for a LEGO Deadpool minifigure plus one other Lego item such as (Black Lightning, Ant Man set, or Millenium Falcon set).  Please PM me if interested.

I have various Funko Freddys and a Star Wars The Last Jedi Finn protoype. I'm looking for the LEGO Sheriff Deadpool minifigure. I'm here in SD until Monday afternoon.

The Lego minifig giveaway is ridiculously slow.  I don't understand why they made the changes they made but kept the old system in place for distribution instead of just using something like the redemption room to handle this. We couldn't make the wait work with our schedule so we weren't even able to pick ours up.

Sunday set pick up for Falcon.  You can also get one other of Aquaman or Antman!
Plus, designer of one of the Brickheadz at store.

He's also working on Lego Movie 2.

Edit: at check out, the register person actually said you could get 1 of each.  Now, that's how to handle excess stock.

Right before the convention ended, Lego still had a room full of the exclusives. Some guy went a bought like 6 millennium falcons. I am pretty sure they were not able to sell out their stock by the end of comic con. I think Lego really poo poo on this year by the Lotto. Also there were stand by for the mini figures.

Not sure which guy you were referring to but I was in that line and 10 minutes before closing I made it to the register and bought 6 of those Star Wars. Maybe it was me? I Was holding my sleeping 4 year old over my shoulder who was dressed as Supergirl 😌.

Anyhow I spoke to the Lego people inside to ask why they lifted the limit to buy. She said that so many people with winning confirmations were no shows so now they are scrambling to sell off as much as they could. Lego didn't like this new online portal system and said expect major revamping for next year over the status quo of this year FWIW.

It was not LEGO that poo poo, but CCI.  The  lottery system did nothing to alleviate the crowd and lines. There were plenty of no shows for the Minifigs and sets.  The vendor brought the yearly standard complement of 6000 exclusive set:  Marvel (Ant-Man & Was)-1500, DC (Aquaman)- 1500, and Star Wars (Millenium Falcon)- 3000.  The problem is the lottery, as the less popular BrickHeadz were all sold out by 1pm on Sunday the last couple of years.

LEGOs on Sunday  afternoon resorted to handing out the extra Black Lightning minifigs to anyone that walked by with a child. Plenty of sets were unclaimed. To get rid of the excess inventory, the company started  offering confirmed ticketholders the option to purchase 2 sets and later 6 to those in the standby ( no confirmation) line.  I purchased a box of 6  Millenium Falcons and offered it at cost to  forum members attending to FOCC dinner.

This is a very interesting take.

Are you suggesting that LEGO didn’t elect to partake in this new lottery system – that they were obliged or forced to by CCI?
