I saw that on their web-site as well.  It's going to a long 13 months waiting until the next one.  Timing might be good for some of the entertainment guests.  I know Chloe Bennet told us they just finished filming episode 19 for Agents of SHIELD.  Having the con 5-6 weeks later should let many of the TV shows wrap up their season and maybe have fewer conflicts.

The show felt "off" being in March. It might be a new con but Silicon Valley landed some pretty big people, who I think might have been able to do C2E2 other wise (Renner being one). Plus with filming schedules like you mentioned. I'm excited to see what next year brings!

I may attend again next year. Since it's dated later and a week before my B'day, it would be a nice gift to  myself. I maybe able to convince my friend to go to Chicago again & attend for 2 days. She didn't mind the one day we went, I'll convert her soon enough.

so there are VIP passes for C2E2 and Star Wars but not ECCC or NYCC, a very inconsistent message imo to their fan equality

Change your mind on the VIP badge?  It didn't look like you were going to do it again based on earlier post.

Anyway, also got my VIP badge and hotel booked this morning.  Tried calling OnPeak for some friends and was told that the McCormack (hotel attached to convention center) is already sold out for Saturday.  Was glad I already had my reservation.

I was on the fence because the guests last year didn't make the VIP worth it to me. But based on who's been announced so far, I can see two or three panels I already plan to attend.  For me, the only perk last year was the fact I was "first on the floor" and able to get a sketch from Skottie Young.

Hello,

I have not attended C2E2 before and had some questions about how autographs work. Due to a scheduling conflict we can only attend on Sunday. How do buying autographs work? Do they sell them online in advance? Do you have to buy them on like Friday at registration or are you just able to walk up to the table without an "appointment" and pay right at the table? We are specifically going for Jeffrey Dean Morgan and wondered how it worked if we only go Sunday. Thanks in advance for the help.
Title: Re: C2E2 2017: April 21-23
Post by: DaveG on November 16, 2016, 01:03:02 PM
If I recall correctly, you can pay in advance for photo ops, but autographs are just people lining up in the morning and then paying at the table (bring cash).  They usually don't post the actual times the celeb will be signing until the con starts and even then it can get adjusted that day.  For most celebs at C2E2 the autograph lines are longer in the morning and shorter as the day progresses.  Lines on Sunday are shorter than Saturday.  Last year, you could walk right up to Melissa Benoist by late in the afternoon.  In the morning you might wait an hour or two.

Thank you, that is exactly what I need to know!! I don't mind lining up and waiting for the auto but if they sold tickets at registration then they would be sold out by Sunday of course! Just waiting in line works much better :)

Is it safe to assume if they are scheduled for both days of the con then they sign both days as well?

Yup! If they're listed for certain days, then they should be signing for those days.

Yeah, last year I was in line for Melissa Benoist's autograph and wanted Chyler Leigh's right afterwards.  I noticed that the line for Chyler was down to 1 or 2 people while there were still about a dozen people in front of me for Melissa.  It was about an hour before closing and I was worried that if Chyler's line was empty she might leave early (I've seen other cons where that is frequently done).  I asked one of the staff if they thought Chyler might leave early and was told that if she did and people still wanted her autograph they could bring her back since she was contracted for the duration.  I'd never seen that happen before and didn't want to be the cause of that.  Fortunately a few more people walked up for Chyler's autograph and it all worked out.  They usually try not to upset the celebs so I still wonder if they would actually have done that, but that's what I was told.

Well, a contract is a contract. I've seen celebs stay hours beyond floor hours (cough wizard world cough) to make sure everyone got their autographs, so I can totally see a show bringing a celeb back if they thought they could walk off or leave early because a line happened to be short.

Help!

I am not seeing any photo ops with the Stranger Things cast on Sunday.  My daughter is planning on dressing up as 11 and wants to do a picture with Mike and Dustin.  However, we are going on Saturday and I see they are not offering any Saturday purchases anymore!   :(

DOES ANYONE WHO IS GOING ON MULTIPLE DAYS WANT TO SWAP A SUNDAY PHOTO OP WITH Dustin and Mike?  Please message me [email protected]

Or is it possible they are only showing up to C2E2 on Sunday?

Can someone please confirm or help out?

Let me know if you're still in search of someone to join you.  Secured my last autograph for the day at 6:49pm, just under the wire.  Tomorrow I'm pretty clear until around 2pm when I have another photo op.

Saw a couple of panels today and survived the projector (literally) going up in smoke.  It's always fun when you have the perfect seat, the fire marshall clears the room, and then you're not guaranteed the seat you were in when you left.  Fortunately, I only ended up one row further back (thank you VIP badge), so it still turned out well.  Stan Lee/Frank Miller was an awesome panel.

If anyone wonders if a VIP badge is worth it, the answer from my perspective is, "it depends", but today I had two photo ops 15 minutes apart and it never would have been possible without the VIP badge, which let me cut to the front of the line.  And unlike some cons, C2E2 has a limited number of VIP badges so you don't feel like half the attendees are VIPs.
