First, nice dress @everlastingwhy!

Secondly, have any of you ever had your costumes shipped to your hotel?  Can't imagine trying to fly my getup with me across country. Wondering how far in advance of arrival the hotel will hold a large package?  Staying at the Westin Gaslamp, in case anyone has actual experience with that hotel.

Oh yeah. Helmet. DONE. ;)

Nicccce!!! My friend had something sent to the Indigo last year I think? Or to the Horton Grand the year before I'm not sure but they were good about notifying her and then brought it up to the room when we were gone but she kept on them about it to make sure it would arrive etc so I think if you communicate well to all parties it would be okay

I worked hotel front desk and reservations during university and after I graduated as an accountant and duty manager. You can never have it arrive too early. (And they'll be so busy and stressed out the week of that it is better to get it to them beforehand.) What you need to do is call beforehand and make sure they are okay with it. You're best off asking directly for the front desk/guest services manager (GSM) or maybe even the duty manager, but I would go with the GSM. Ask how the package should be addressed. Then when you ship it and get a firm date from the shipping company, inform the GSM of the date that the package will be arriving. After speaking with the GSM confirm with front desk/guest services (not the manager) that there is a note in your reservation that they should expect a package on that date. After confirmation of delivery, confirm with front desk/guest services (not the manager) that the package has arrived and confirm that they have made a note in your reservation that it has arrived. Be extra nice to front desk/guest services (events like SDCC are hell for frontline hospitality workers) and if everything goes smoothly leave a nice letter for the front desk/guest services staff and write an email to the general manager or director praising the front desk/guest services. Send an email to the GSM thanking them and praising the front desk/guest services. Basically front desk/guest services will do all the work but you need the GSM for accountability.
What are you, Worf? Do you tremble and quake with fear at the approach of combat? Hoping to talk your way out of a fight like a Human? Or do you hear the cry of the warrior, calling you to battle, calling you to glory like a Klingon?

Thanks @dcuodust! I called them one time, but the desk attendant I spoke to was not terribly helpful. Will give them another call and follow your AWESOME instructions! ;)

Is everyone else finished with their cosplay get-ups?

Just waiting on my ring to arrive in the mail as well as find the perfect shoes (so simple but so damn hard to find!!), and then I'll be ready!

I'm so excited to see all of the cosplays!

Nope! That would be surprisingly organized for me. They are all mostly done, but none are at 100%. We'll see how many make it there in time.

Sigh. Someday I'll start earlier. But I say that every year.

I'm hoping to have everything done this weekend. (Last year I was literally sewing the night before my morning flight lol.)
