I got my RSVP to the screening, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to line up by 7pm.
-
Got them and I'll see if I can make the screening

Happy hour is going down where the imax experience was
They are taking anyone with a badge and garunteed screening access with the wristband.
-
I'm here stuffing my face with free food and an open bar getting smashing drunk with the open bar before movie time!! >:D It's fantastic!
-
Oh man, I didn't think I'd get in after 7pm since I was in a panel. Did you have to line up early? What wristband?
-
They gave wristbands when you checked in. We are moving into the screenings now. We showed up 10 minutes early but you could walk in until 10 mins ago.
-
Everyone in the theater got a blonde wig and retro dark Ray Ban type sunglasses. I'm wearing my wig and glasses feeling a little naughty! O0
-
We didn't get the wigs and glasses but got Charlize and the director before the movie.
-
Charlize did come in and talk to us about the movie. She did selfies with us all in our wigs. I was sitting in the front row so it was a great experience having Charlize sitting with us getting pictures. No director though.

The guy who introduced Theron was the director.

We were walking on our way back from Impractical Jokers and saw the Atomic Blondes saying free screening so went to that. Sat in Theater 1 and loved the movie's soundtrack!

I wish I had remembered this Saturday night, but I thought demand was going to be way high and impossible to get in without waiting in line for hours. Ended up paying for an overpriced drink and ok food, then going to what was probably the weakest masquerade year. Then found out that the Syfy Fan Party line was insane. Couldn't figure out what to do so inadvertently fell asleep for the night.
Whomp whomp. Not a great way to close out the last night of the convention.

I thought the line would be too bad also. Oh well I enjoyed the symphony concert. They played star wars music and Indiana Jones live

Man, I wished I had known about this. I didn't read this thread before. I was wandering around about that time looking for something to do. Note to self, be more organized.

You had to have rsvp'd on the website earlier.

I thought someone early was saying they let in anyone with a badge.

They eventually even removed the badge requirement. Anyone over the age of 21 was allowed in.

Two women stopped us in the gaslamp quarter on Friday and gave us postcards advertising this. They just said show up, nothing about RSVP. They even told us one of our party could get in no problem even though she's not 21 yet. Everywhere else I looked said 21+ so we didn't risk it.

Walked right in at 7:30 with no line. Didn't RSVP...had my badge but they didn't seem to check it, they only wanted ID.
I was in theater 2. No wigs or Charlize...still, definitely can't complain about a free movie, food, and booze. :)

The party was fun. No one really checked out ticket or badge, only ID. Depending on your bartender, you could end up with a really strong mule too. They gave out sunglasses and cassettes which was cool and had a couple photo op spots.
They rented out the whole theater so every screen was showing it. However, I believe the party groups were ushered into two of the 8 theaters; theater 3 got sunglasses & wigs (for the social media promo shot) and Charlize & director and theater i think 5 or 6 was given Charlize & director. If you didn't go to the party and just the movie I don't think they gave you anything but a movie.
We got lucky and were an early group into the movie. We accidentally sat in one of the reserved rows (no one said we couldn't and someone before us had already pulled down the tape) and by the time they realized what happened, the only spot with enough chairs together for us was in one of the front rows. Turned out to be great since it was near Charlize when she sat for the promo shot.
-
To add, Theater 1 filed up at the party and we got the director and Charlize. She came in with a What's Up, ......! and maybe she expected us to have wigs on, which we didn't. She made great comments honoring the fans and someone from the row said "how many Millions". We laughed and Charlize replied to the guy about talking over lunch and left. It became our theme for the movie and the rest of the con!

I was at the party and entered through it but we didn't get any extras. I got in line fairly late though (around 7:45) so that may have had something to do with it.
And my mule was certainly strong... 8)
