@VaporsExcellent representation! You said what I was trying to say! Apparently I'm already mentally exhausted today!
iogpysch was right it was a little disorganized and late but..............
It was insanely fun!! The crowd was chill (attitude wise, bananas concert wise) and was packed. I went with Dolphina and we were right at the front of the stage and we saw some GOT folks, Chloe Grace Moretz, cast of Teen Wolf and some others i'm struggling to remember.
Linkin Park was on point and that was easily the funnest night I had during the con.
I have nothing but my gut to go on, but I've been telling my friend for weeks that I think Fall Out Boy will be playing this. It's the right kind of band. The guys are touring right now, but they have a week off on their schedule which would coincide perfectly. This would make DH check it out. He may be a metal head, but he loves Fall Out Boy!
(And yes, this is mostly wishful thinking from me, because I'm missing their tour date in my home town because of SDCC. :P)

It's possible but might be difficult for their gear? Not sure how they do that, if they use other instruments or fly their stuff? I guess we'll see!!!

I don't think I'll be able to make it to my "local" tour date either but I want to see them again!!

I guess we'll see!!!Bands do fly out with their crew and equipment for stuff like this, and fly to their next city right afterward. It wouldn't be too hard. Especially since sound and lighting should be taken care of by MTV, so they'd really just need their instruments and maybe some other basic equipment.
I thought one direction was in town?I was thinking the same thing but their concert is Thursday so I can't imagine how it would be possible.
Would that be a good fit?
Keep in mind, I haven't watched MTV since the 80's.

That would make One Direction truly impossible for this event. . . thankfully.I had visions of being overrun by hordes of screaming teenagers, whew. Now, I just have to manage the hordes of excited nerds! At least I'll be with my own kind

I don't know, I've kind of thought One Direction since the beginning since their concert is that night too. It could be like a simulcast kinda deal where they stream videos of 1-2 songs for us and use that in their awards footage. Awards shows have done it in the past. Especially since One Direction is nominated for an award. That might be why they haven't announced a band; because there wouldn't actually be a band present. I guess it all depends on LiveNation or whoever is promoting One Direction's tour and their venue, etc.
I guess that's possible, although it would be a completely different vibe than last year. Maybe it was just me, but I thought most of the crowd last year was there for the live music. Take that away and I don't think the crowd comes out.
MTV would have to get the broadcast rights to the concert. Considering that this is airing on a Sunday night I don't see that happening.
Yeah I don't see one D agreeing. They are too big and don't need it.No one hopes I'm wrong more than me. :). I'm not what you would describe as their demographic. Ha.
Does anyone remember what the schedule was like last year? In terms of when performances were in span of awards show?
This would be the week to announce an act, so I'd still hold out hope... unless schedule has drastically changed.
The SDCC Unofficial blog just reported that All Time Low and Flo Rida will be performing at the MTV Fanfest this year. For me personally, I will probably skip it, just not as impressed as last year with Linkin Park, but hey, that is just me, I'm sure there will be others who will be happy.

Took a bit of a listen to All Time Low, and their music doesn't do much for me. Flo Rida is good to be at a club, but I don't think I'm that into his music to make a commitment to this. Too bad, this year looked like I was free to try this out.

I do not understand why they are doing this. Was there really that big of an issue last year that they felt they needed to do tickets this time? And the whole lining up at 5 is not cool.
I think these tickets are for "super-fans". They want a bunch of screaming girls up at the front of the stage so the show seems more exciting and party-like. It's like a VIP ticket because these people are guaranteed to get in.
I'm pretty sure there will still be a line to get in for the rest of us.
Where do you see these tickets at ?http://1iota.com/Show/467/2015-MTV-Fandom-Awards?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=856&utm_content=project&utm_term=2015-MTV-Fandom-Awards
Oh. I remember when MTV when it was 99 Luftballons young. Is that the line to be in?! Got waitlisted.

1iota stupidity strikes again.Exactly!
Per Sdcc Unofficial Blog - they reached out to MTV and it is line up, first come first served as it has been in the past.Ok, that makes more sense.

Did SDCC Unofficial Blog confirm that on the blog itself or on their Twitter page?Twitter

For the people who got in last year, do you mind me asking what time you all started lining up? We started too late last year and got turned away.I think I was in line around 6:00 and I was all the way around the block.
Questions--I'm not sure about ADA but there were people sitting on a grassy hill-like area last year.
Were there places to sit in the Park? I don't think I can stand around for long periods of time. Was there any place near the stage for people to sit and enjoy the concert?
Did they do anything about ADA entry, or did everyone have to wait in the same long line?
Still debating if I want to do this.

Theres no designated sitting. You can try to sit on the grassy hill but theres going to be people standing so it might be difficult to see depending on the area.
