I would love to stay at Hotel Del and those rates are awesome but love being close to the convention center  :(

Agreed. But if you want some shoulder nights before/after the con, you could do it. We actually stayed there the weekend before con on Hilton points (since the OnPeak rates weren't available for those dates).

It looks like the prices basically double starting 4/22, might be worth checking every now and then to see if that window keeps moving.

ETA: For example the Hard Rock currently only takes reservations through 4/30, so the Intercontinental's price thing could just be there way of controlling bookings outside a similar window.

Its Refundable!

So it looks like it depends on the dates that you are reserving. For example, if I put July 16 its refundable. If I arrive on July 17 its non-refundable.
