Just a thanks for this as well, I shared it in our UK SDCC facebook group as there are a number of us who've been to SDCC in recent years that are now looking to attend NYCC for the first time this year so we found the article really useful to understand how things are run.
I have a dilemma. I'm thinking about going to NYCC this year, except there is a film festival based in Los Angeles that I would like to submit my short documentary to, except it's held on the same exact days as NYCC (Oct. 4-7). If they accept my film, I can't return my NYCC badges for refund nor can I transfer them. Just read the legal fine print on NYCC's site. You are not allowed to view links. Register or LoginAnd Now a Word from Our Legal Team...Tickets and/or badges (“Badges”) for the event (“Event”) are non-refundable and non-transferable ...So far, I have not made a decision on either. Being that I don't have a place to stay in New York, maybe it's just as well that I save money and try to concentrate on the film festival instead. Of course there is no guarantee they'll accept my film either.
A happy dilemma. Hope you many hear from the film festival before you have to make that choice! Congratulations on having to make that choice. (that doesn't help, I know :-\)
Today was the early bird deadline for the festival, I just submitted it.

You too! Thankfully I had my sister log on also. She was in an out with ours in 8 mins. My browsers are still in the queue. Good luck to everyone else!
