I have started hotel hunting and found three possible options open at this point, the cheapest of which is under $800 for Wednesday night through Sunday morning and is walking distance from the 'Con.  That said, I am completely open to sharing if someone is interested because for that price the options are pretty "bare bones".  I want to be walking distance (9 blocks or closer) and I am willing to pony up a decent share for a shared room/condo.

I am female and middle aged, but could care less if you are older/younger as long as you don't want to turn the room into a kegger.  I plan to be costuming this year.

If there is a thread for this, I apologize, but it seemed that all the 2013 threads didn't include anything for someone looking to share that didn't already have something booked.

Feel free to message me.

I'm hoping to find people that share interest in panels so I can stand in line with others at the panels id like to go to. Doesnt have to be all of them mind you, but some shared interests would be nice. Would like to go to panels of Dexter, the Walking Dead, Game of thrones, Psych, and some movie panels. Went to a lot of tv show panels last year that i wanted to go to but Im willing to go to some again. Also I love dressing up. Dressed as towelie from South Park last year. Its not required but would be kind of cool to go with others in costume as well.

Hope to hearn from some of you. Had some friends back out this year do to money issues so would hate to cancel.

I'm English and this will be my first SDCC, although not my first visit to CA.

Not to hijack this thread but a quick detour. Reach out to ukdeejay (one of the moderators for this forum). He has a Facebook group set up for attendees from the UK to make plans together. You might be able to make some new friends and potential roommates this way also.

You can choose for messages to go to the Other folder. It's less obvious but it'll still get there w/o the stupid $1 charge.

But yes, friend request is also an option.

Again, apologies for going off topic - back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Marriott Marquis and Marina, right next to the convention center
Same place as last year!

4 people - $350/person ($1400 room+tax+expenses / 4)
6 people - $230/person ($1400/6)
8 people - $175/person
10 people - $140/person

minimum 4 people
maximum 10 people

contact: techpoc *at* gmail.com

Most of the congoers I know will just use the place to shower, store stuff, and maybe sleep for a few hours.
Last year everyone went to camp out in Hall H, barely anyone was actually in the room.
So I don't really differentiate between floor and bed or the number of nights you use.
Neither do I run female-only/male-only rooms or provide food.

* I try my best to be fair to all I deal with, to the point that I will re-split room costs and make it lower for you when people, and personally absorb the cost of no-shows rather than force an unexpected price increase on others.

* To reduce the no-show problem, deposits may be requested from new members.

* I expect people to be responsible for their own stuff, to act honestly, and to secure their valuables just in case.
(There were some questions about last year's "I have no liability for your items" disclaimer. I've NEVER had a problem in my rooms, but this rule is there because of the stories I've heard about other rooms at Fanime, etc.)

* This also means no room damage, no causing problems with the hotel, and no running up service charges.

* Males and females welcome. I'm not a creep, and no creeps are allowed.
(Again, I've never had a problem with creeps. But it needs to be mentioned.)

* The room is quiet.

Hotel: San Diego Marriott Mission Valley.  (was on Purple shuttle route last year and is steps away from the is the Rio Vista trolley stop)

Days Booked: 6! Tuesday 7/16 — Monday 7/22 (check in 4pm; check out 11am)

Price: $180/night plus tax = $203/per night.  For 2 people, $101.50 per night, for 4 people $50.80 per night.  Final Total =  $1217.76 for six nights.

Smoking/Drinking:
Hotel is non smoking, but the room has a balcony, so...  & drinking is not up to me.

Spaces Left:
4.
I don’t actually need the room.  I have a space in another hotel, but I got this room as a safety net during the hotel pre-sale (which is why the rate is only $180/night and not $195).  Since I already paid, I merely want to be reimbursed, but I could be flexible on the price if you don't need the room all 6 days.

Preferences and Description:
What type of room is it, and how many people can it fit?

Double w/ 2 queen sized beds for 4 people. 325 sqft/29 sqm. Air-conditioned. Room has a balcony, total size 15sqft/1sqm and a living/sitting area.

Do you have an age or gender preference for roommates?

No.  Since I am giving up the room, I don’t have the right to dictate.  But whomever takes the room first will have free reign to select roomies.

Include a brief description about yourself:

Not that you will have to room with me, but I am a public high school English teacher living and working in NYC.  Last semester I gifted my 10 most motivated and most improved students copies of Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One with music playlists.

Specific behavioral preferences for roommates?

Again, see above.

We can discuss PayPal options and we can set up the name transfer any time.  As I said the room is there, and having any room, even in Mission Valley beats camping out in Hall H or sleeping in a parking garage. Unless that’s your thing, then . . .. Email me.

Name: Lena Cast
Hotel:No Hotel, it is a house actually. 5 bedroom house with a beautiful view. one bedroom available only for 4 people. Off the 805 Freeway, Exit Olympic Parkway. In the beautiful city of Chula Vista.

Days Booked: Saturday and Sunday
Price: 100 per person
Smoking/Drinking: no/and no
Spaces Left: 1 bedroom
Preferences and Description: Hoping to find responsible and friendly people early on so we can build a relationship. I am bringing you into my home and expect you to be courteous and clean.
What type of room is it, and how many people can it fit? It is a 2 story house about 20 minutes from the convention. We are attending the con for the weekend (sat and sun) and you can come with us if you help us pay for parking. We will be renting one bedroom upstairs. It has its own entrance from the bedroom  where you can leave without using the front door. It is located in the nice area of Chula Vista (off 805 Olympic pkwy). We dont have towels for bathing unfortunately (BYO Towel). The bedroom will have a queen size bed and you can probably fit a total of 4 people in the bedroom.
IMPORTANT: Since there will be no deposit, we will be asking for photo IDs of everyone staying. I hate to assume the worst of people, but for our safety and the safety of our property we will need that information. You will sign a rental agreement valid for 2 days. My sister is a owner of multiple properties, so feel at ease, she deals with personal information in a daily basis.
Do you have an age or gender preference for roommates? not at all. Anyone and any gender (and of course any orientation. This shouldn't even be mentioned but some people are idiots when it comes to the LGBT community) are welcome <3
Include a brief description about yourself: Me? Well, I am 25. I will be cosplaying (if you are cosplaying Dragon Age that would be epic!) My sister owns the house. We are very easy to get along with. We are very friendly and quiet people. We enjoy good company and enjoy making new friends. We would like to have people who will not cause any trouble.
Specific behavioral preferences for roommates? no smokers inside. Obviously we cannot control what you do outside, but none of that inside the property, please. We dont like drunks, so that type of behaviour is out of the question. Just be friendly and courteous and you will receive the same from us.

I'll follow the forum layout

Name: Brandon
Hotel: I'm looking for a Hotel

Days Booked: I'll be there Wednesday - Monday
Price: Very Flexible
Smoking/Drinking: No/Yes
Spaces Looking: 2 in total, myself and brother

I'm looking for a place within walking distance for my brother and I. We've been attending the show for 7 years now. We're usually not in the room much. We spend 18+ hours out each day just really need a place to touch base at. We like to do all the night life events around downtown so we're out late most nights. We do cosplay, but we don't have giant crazy props or tones of make-up or anything like that. It's all very minimal. We'd love to room with anyone, it's a great way to meet people, make friends, party, and get to know other things going on around the con.

Hi!  Me and a couple of friends are going to SDCC starting Thursday-Sunday and we have room for someone else.  Most likely they would sleep on the floor, but it depends on how much they would be able to kick in towards the bill (we aren't asking too much, as we have 3-4 people already but still have room).  Please send me an e-mail.  Serious offers only.

I'm looking for a room for Thu-Sat nights for my boyfriend and myself. We can only budget about $300 for the both of us, so floor space a mile away is fine (we're bringing bikes), I'm just having difficulty finding anything. I appreciate any offers, thanks!

You can also take the initiative and look through some of the other posts in this thread as well.  It might be easier to contact someone who you think would be good roommates for you and your boyfriend, especially since the information and room sharing expectations would already be available in that person's post.

Good luck! ^-^/

Hello Everyone I have a reservation at Laquinta  Mission valley Weds-Sunday. It has two queen beds, free breakfast and shuttle pick up. Im doing a flat rate split based on occupancy. If one person the cost is 650 for each of us. Would prefer ladies or a couple. Hotel is non- smoking. If you are  female willing to share a bed let me know as well. The more roomates the cheaper for us all but I don't want more than 4 in the room

Name: Brittany
Hotel: Comfort Inn Gaslamp Convention Center. I can change the booking to request 2 beds and I presume there will be floor space available.

Days Booked: Wednesday Jul 17 - Sunday Jul 22
Price: $1930.50 with taxes/fees, to be split evenly between however many people are in the room
Smoking/Drinking: No
Spaces Left: 1-3. I have no other people in the room at this point but wouldn't be comfortable with more than 3 other people in the room.

Preferences and Description:
What type of room is it, and how many people can it fit? 1 Double Bed, No Smoking. Free High-Speed Wireless, Coffee Maker In Room, Microwave and Refrigerator, Safe, Iron and Ironing Board.
Do you have an age or gender preference for roommates? No.
Include a brief description about yourself: I'm a working member of the press, so I will take up some small space with a laptop, camera and other gear. I also have a disability, so the room will be handicapped accessible and I may need some minor assistance on occasion.
Specific behavioral preferences for roommates? Mostly just people who can behave themselves within reason. Since I'm attending SDCC on business, I'm going to need to be able to work in the room and obviously can't have anything too crazy going on that might get me in trouble. Otherwise, I'm pretty easygoing. If you've got any questions, ask - I don't bite!

Sam, I might be interested. I've got a room I'm trying to fill but haven't ruled out canceling the reservation and just staying with someone else.

My issue is that I have a disability, so I have some issues with things like stairs, certain bathrooms, etc. Would that be a problem for you?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What rooms do you have?  Double bed rooms at quad occupancy.

How long is the stay?  Day 0 to Day 5.  I like to get in to a convention before it starts and leave after it's done.

Are the rates per night or for the whole stay?[/B]  It's for the whole stay.  I do not have a per night rate.

When would payment be due?  I ask that payment be sent about a month prior to the convention.  This gives me time to turn payments into cash for the hotels, as well as weed out any last second drop-outs.  Besides, it makes it easier to keep other people's money separate from mine until necessary.

How do you like payment?  I prefer checks or money orders.  If cash is sent in the mail and the postman loses it, it's lost for both you and me.  Checks or money orders can be traced by the sender, or cancelled and retrieved, if necessary.

Do you accept Paypal?  I avoid it unless I have no other choice.  I ask that you send it as a "gift" to so the fees associated with it are handled on your end.  Any other way, and they can take a serious chunk out of the hotel monies.

What do we do about food?  I have three things I'm doing to help with that:

Aren't you a bit... um... old?  Updated - 1/12/13  That's a fair question.  Simply answered, my inner child and I get a long pretty well, so I still collect anime and comic books, watch professional wrestling, cosplay, and hang out with a lot of younger people.  If you see me talking to a bunch of 20-somethings, I'm not having a mid-life crisis.  I just relate well.  :)  Besides... I'm only 36.

I'm a girl and I don't want to room with guys...  Not a problem.  I have one girls only room currently set up.  When you contact me, please mention you're interested in this specific set-up, and I'll give you the details.

I'm under 18... Can I still go?  Sure.  I'll take people as young as 14, but if you are between 14 and 17, I HAVE TO SPEAK TO YOUR PARENTS FIRST.  This is non-negotiable.  It sounds very over-bearing, but if you're a minor, you lie to your parent/guardian about where you are, and you're found with me and/or my friends, that's a potential kidnapping charge on the adult(s) you're found with, and that's a great way to ruin a convention.

What is your cancellation policy?  Update - 1/12/13  I totally get life happens and unexpected things pop up like money troubles or friends suddenly inviting you to go.  If you can decide if you're cancelling by the end of May, I'd appreciate it.  Though, I'll accept your cancellation up to a week before the convention.  However, it's very hard to guarantee a full refund within a week of the convention.  The reason for this is there's other people counting on everyone paying their fair share.

What's the rule about drinking?  I don't mind social drinking or fun drinking, but I don't condone getting fall-down drunk.  Also, NO MINOR DRINKING, PERIOD.  If you're an adult who gives a minor alcohol, we'll have a few unkind words, and I won't hesitate to involve the authorities.

Someone I'm rooming with is getting on my nerves...  Bring anything like this to me.  I'm a decent negotiator and I will handle all issues like this.  Few things can make a weekend more tense than people irritating each other and drawing lines in the sand.  Even if it doesn't get to fighting, you're giving the cold-shoulder to someone else, and everyone else in that room will get frustrated and caught up in it.  That's not fair to everyone in that situation.

"Um... I broke something in the room."  This should be a no-brainer, but be prepared to pay for it.  I also inspect rooms quickly before I check them out.  The reason for that is if these things are reserved with my credit card and something comes up broken, I have to pay for it.  I limit my risks by being careful.

What happens if I break "the rules?"  I escort you out.  Not out of the hotel or the convention, but out of my room block.  No refunds and no arguments.  You're out.

Any other questions, please feel free to ask.

Price: $950.10 total ($178.35 to $230.02 a person, depending on number of people and bed or floor space)
Smoking/Drinking: Smokers are fine, but it's a non-smoking room. Yes to drinking. Drinking allowed, but there will be a girl under 21 in the room
Spaces Left: 1 (shared) bed space ($10 more a night) or 1 floor space (air mattress)
What type of room is it and how many people can it fit?: Double bed non-smoking, 6 people total (looking for 1 more)
Do you have an age or gender preference for roommates?: 1 more female space.
Include a brief description about yourself: We're cosplayers, but pretty experienced with sharing space and don't have many props.
Specific behavioral preferences for roommates: Keep semi-clean and snoring at a minimum is all we ask.

Reposting! One of the woman that was interested never confirmed her spot in the room. I'm asking for upfront payment to confirm a spot in the room. I will be happy to email, Facebook, give references, and provide options for payment.

LAYOUT
Name: Stephanie
Hotel: Hampton Inn San Diego Downtown

Days Booked:  Check in - 07/16/13 Check out - 07/21/13
Price: $220/night (to be split among those staying), + $12 a day for parking w/ in and out privileges
Smoking/Drinking: Yes/Yes . It is a smoking room. But that can change when booking if someone is picky
Spaces Left: There is currently only me. I am in the tier for 1 king or 2 queen, but not sure what they will give me as I booked for just myself. I am comfortable with maybe 1 or 2 more ppl

Preferences and Description:
Tier Name: 1 King or 2 Queen Beds
Room Type: 1 person - 1 bed
Special Requests: SMOKING ROOM
Check-in: 7/16/2013 Check-out: 7/22/2013
But I think I can go in and change to 2 queen if necessary, if not, I dont know if there is floor space enough for an air mattress... prolly..

Hotel is at a shuttle stop for CCI. I am pretty much just parking for the whole stay and using the 24 hr shuttle.

Do you have an age or gender preference for roommates?
I would prefer female occupants ages 23-30. I am looking to go out and have fun and possibly drink. Not looking for crazy parties in the room but dont mind some ppl to hang out. I am not really cosplaying this year so there is space for ppl's props. Don't mind them, but looking to respect each others privacy and able to feel comfortable leaving stuff in the room.

Include a brief description about yourself:
I am a 26 yr old female who manages a tasting room in wine country. I like all different kinds of things and going to just have a good time and try to see it all!

Specific behavioral preferences for roommates?
I prefer someone who is organized, clean and respects privacy and personal belongings. I do not care if you smoke or drink. I am getting a smoking room.

AVAILABLE AVAILABLE AVAILABLE as of 5.25.13

I am offering a spot in this room now just because the weight of such a high cost of a room by myself is daunting. Looking to split in whichever way seems comfortabe for everyone. If you are just looking to sleep on the floor, I am going to charge you less than half because you wouldn't be getting a bed..

Also, if anyone is SERIOUSLY interested please talk to me. If you are, a meeting would need to take place to exchange cash for room key. Full payment of room up front at that time as well (or deposit to hold room is acceptable via paypal). I have gotten screwed on stuff like this before so I am trying to just be cautious.

TAKEN. THANKS!!!!!!

How do you like payment?  I prefer checks or money orders.  If cash is sent in the mail and the postman loses it, it's lost for both you and me.  Checks or money orders can be traced by the sender, or cancelled and retrieved, if necessary.

Do you accept Paypal?  Yes. I ask that you send it as a "gift" to so the fees associated with it are handled on your end.  Any other way, and they can take a serious chunk out of the money sent.

What is your cancellation policy?  Will accept cancellation up to a week before the convention but you will lose non-refundable deposit you gave to secure room.

What do we do about food?  There is a shared kitchen with pantry and refrigerator space. Grocery stores and restaurants are nearby as well.

Who lives in the house?   I live in this house with other, mostly college aged, women year round. One friend has a 5 year old son. They think of me as a peer, not their mother. I also will be going to Comic Con though not for preview night, which is a bummer.

I'm a girl and I don't want to room with guys...  This is a women’s only household so no problem.

I'm under 18... Can I still go? Sure.  I'll take people as young as 14, but if you are between 14 and 17, I HAVE TO SPEAK TO YOUR PARENTS FIRST.  This is non-negotiable.  It sounds very over-bearing, but if you're a minor, you lie to your parent/guardian about where you are, there is a potential kidnapping charge on the adult(s) you're found with I will NOT risk that.

What's the rule about drinking or drug use? ZERO TOLERANCE on drug use. I met a cutie. Can they stay over for a night of “fun”?  Easy answer. No… There is a child living here most nights. I rent the room to you because I believe you will be a respectful guest.

Someone in the house is getting on my nerves... Bring anything like this to me.  I'm a decent negotiator and I will handle all issues like this.  Few things can make a weekend more tense than people irritating each other and drawing lines in the sand.  Even if it doesn't get to fighting, you're giving the cold-shoulder to someone else, and everyone else in the house will get frustrated and caught up in it.  That's not fair to everyone in that situation.

"Um... I broke something in the house" This should be a no-brainer, be honest about it but be prepared to pay for it.

What happens if I break "the rules?" You will be asked to leave, with police escort if serious enough.  No refunds and no arguments.

Only Thursday Available!

Days Booked: 7/18-7/21

You can choose to stay only whatever days you want if only a few and we'll work it out. (Also I know I'm paying a little more on each account, but I'm ok with it.)
Smoking/Drinking: Drinking is ok, but I believe the room is non-smoking.

Price: $700 total including taxes. Price can be split with up to 4 people
Smoking/Drinking: No Smoking
Spaces Left: 2 reserved but up to 4 in beds

I made these reservations during the early bird hotel sale back in January. My friend and I stayed here last year and it was awesome. Staff is super friendly and the room is nice.

Great if you plan to bring a car. There is plenty of parking and a mall and other stores nearby if you need anything.

This reservation is for 2 queen beds/non-smoking.

We booked the hotel this year only to find out recently that someone else is coming to SDCC with us and has invited us to stay at their hotel during the con so we'll be there Wednesday night and then we will be elsewhere.

The reservation has to stay under my name but I'm willing to add names to it so that you can get new keys if needed or anything else. Clean, cool, and respectful people preferred.

Looking for space for just me, anywhere is fine, I don't currently have a room.

30 yr old male, non-smoker, I do drink some but can keep it out of the room and not get ridiculous. I am a self-published comic writer attending for networking purposes, hopefully this means I will be out late most nights doing that. Was planning on arriving sometime Thurs afternoon evening, to attend Fri-Sun, leaving Sun evening, but I am willing to pay for the extra night if it's cheaper than trying to find my own room. I have attended SDCC once before. Find me on twitter @BrendanHykes or brendanhykes.blogspot.com.

Hello, I am planning on going to San Diego Comic Con for all 4 days next month, I found out that my friend may or may not go and is asking for his part of the money back from the hotel which I am pretty disappointed, so I ask if anybody is looking for a hotel to stay at for all 4 days or even some days that can help me pay for it, I really appreciate it. I will be staying at the town and country resort in San Diego. Prefer anyone who is interested, be calm, relax and/or cool. And if you don't mind could I hang out with you guy(s) during the convention, so I won't be alone there? Please let me know if you are interested and we can go from there, thank you anybody. P.s. I am a quiet, relaxed nerd just like most people out there.
San Diego Comic Con!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Room: 2 double beds
Price: $580.96
Would like anybody that is interested, thanks

We have one car and are pretty much at the convention 18 hours a day.
(I've never really been to any of the parties down there, and wouldn't mind going to one this year. We'll see...)

Sarah says she will sleep on the floor if she has to.

Please let us know if you'd be willing to help some fellow geeks out!
Thanks!

Found a room! :D

I contacted one person in this thread, but I figured I'd post here as well. Looking for a room!

Name: Ashley Darling
Hotel: Need one! :)

Days Booked: I will be there either 7/17 or 7/18 thru 7/21. I'm flexible, as I have family in the area and could stay with them a night or two.
Price: N/A
Smoking/Drinking: I do not smoke, but I do drink occasionally.
Spaces Left: You tell me! :P

Preferences and Description:
Age/Gender: Prefer female, ages 21-30.
Include a brief description about yourself: I am attending as a guest of a website I write book reviews for (NerdSpan.com). This is my first year going to SDCC, but I've been trying to go for years. I am an avid reader, writer, and movie-goer. I like Marvel over DC (though both are great), I'm a HUGE fan of True Blood, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, etc. I'm also a Harry Potter nerd. I'm clean, don't snore (loudly, lol), and would love to get up early and stay late at the Con!
Specific behavioral preferences for roommates? Non-smoker, clean, etc. I'm young and nerdy, so you know, those are a given in roommates.
Contact: Either send me a personal message on here or find me on Twitter! @adarlingnovella

I have an extra reservation in the Holiday Inn - Bayside that I can't use.
Check-in Wednesday July 17th.  Checkout Sunday July 21st.

Currently the reservation is a triple for $192/night, but I believe the rate would change to $182/night if it is switched to a double.

I'm looking for someone to take over the reservation.  It was confirmed through the official Comic-con travel planners system.

PM or email me if you are interested!

Name: Boudewijn (Dutch, so either pronounce it like Bow-the-whine, my short name (Boud (pronounced: boot)) or use aerox if you're so inclined. I don't judge)
Hotel: None, I'm looking for a room.

Days Booked: I'll be in San Diego from Thursday the 18th 'till Monday the  22nd
Price: N/A. Though I'd like to keep it as low as possible (~ $40/50 a day would be ideal)
Smoking/Drinking: I don't smoke, drink casually (so not on the room, unless invited, of course) but if you do either, I'm completely fine with it.
Spaces Left: I just need one ^^

Preferences and Description:

21 year old male, about as ordinary as can be. Not going to Comic-con, but rather the events surrounding it (Nerd HQ). I was supposed to go with some friends, but they couldn't go at the last minute, and I couldn't cancel my ticket, so there you go. I hail from the Netherlands, but my English is fine (I even have a nifty British accent, for the people who care about that). I only really need the room to sleep, as I've already gotten in touch with a few other people going, and I'll be going out with them most of the time.

I'm completely at ease with both genders, and really, anything you want to do is probably fair game with me. The one thing I do ask is that you're not overly loud at night. But other than that, feel free to behave like you want. I don't mind/judge.

Room found with Freight (on page 3). He may still have space if you need it. In case you are afraid of sending a deposit a month in advance to someone here with only a few posts, you can also find him on cosplay.com (same name) with over 1,000. No posts here because this is his first time at SDCC.

LOOKING FOR A ROOM

Days Needed: Need at least Thur-Sun, but would love if you had Wednesday too.
Spaces Left: I do not care how many other people are in the room. I will even sleep on the floor for a discounted rate.
Price: Flexible. Depends on location, size of room, et al. Just pop me a message and tell me what you are asking for at which hotel or condo.

Preferences and Description:
What type of room is it, and how many people can it fit?- Any type is fine with me. I would love for it to be in the Gaslamp district, but can deal with it being on the shuttle route (esp if it is an awesome room). I am willing to stay somewhere further away as long as it is easy to get to the convention center in costume (like if you have a car and parking pass or it's right on the rail line). I stayed in National City last year in a great room, but transportation was a problem :/.
Do you have an age or gender preference for roommates- No. I will stay with either gender.
Include a brief description about yourself: I am planning on cosplaying, but I will only need room for my suitcase and a small place where I can body paint myself over a tarp (bathroom is fine, just letting you know I am going to do this). I did this last year at my hotel and had no problem with messes (i.e. I made sure everything was cleaned up afterwards).
Specific behavioral preferences for roommates- Just some one who is excited to be there! I would love to hang out and chat a bit about the events. I feel like I missed out on something last year when I went by myself.
About me: I am a 31 year old female scientist. I don't feel that old though, so don't let my age scare you. I'm hip; I'm with it! I am a casual drinker and a non-smoker. I don't mind if you do either. I'm a pretty agreeable person and easy to get along with. I am totally a cat lady. My favourite shows are those like are Dexter, True Blood, Adventure Time, Bravest Warriors, Wilfred, Futurama, MST3K (and Rifftrax) ect... I love comedians like Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, and Doug Benson, to tell you what my sense of humour is like.

So please message me if you have some room and tell me a bit about yourself :)

Just got my tickets from the lottery resale, for all 4 days. Now I need a place to stay and finding it frustrating so looking on here for any ideas. I'm going solo so it's just me and I'm looking to spend around $500 for all four days with everything included.

Thanks.

Thanks Tina!

Hotel: Staying at a condo blocks away from the center. Address is: 1225 Island Ave (so you can see how close the location is).
Unfortunately it is only a one-bedroom but there is a pull-out couch. I would certainly be willing to sleep on the couch as I plan to spend little time in the room.

Days Booked: July 15th-23rd. You don't have to spend the entire week there but, ideally, I would prefer someone who is planning to be attending SDCC for at least a couple of the days.
Price: If you're only planning to stay a couple days I would ask for $120/night. If you plan to stay at least four days I would decrease the price to $100/night.
Smoking/Drinking: (Yes or No) Smoking- obviously not in the condo. Drinking is fine. Just make sure you clean up after yourself!
Spaces Left: One.  Per agreement with owner of condo, I can only allow one other person besides myself to stay at the location.

Preferences and Description:
What type of room is it, and how many people can it fit? One bedroom with pull-out couch. Condo includes all normal kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, theater system, linens/towels, etc... I'm unsure about parking but able to ask the individual I'll be renting from.
Do you have an age or gender preference for roommates? No preference
Include a brief description about yourself: Female, 26 years old. Mild cosplayer. In that, I have a couple costumes (no real props) but they won't take up any additional space. Currently my two outfits are April O'Neil and Dark Phoenix.
Specific behavioral preferences for roommates? Just look after yourself and be kind! Be courteous and clean up if making a mess as there is a safety deposit fee I already laid down and would prefer to get the entire amount back.

Feel free to PM me or e-mail. Would ideally like to chat a little bit just so we can get to know one another. Hoping to make a new friend and fellow Con-goer!

Space filled. Thanks to all those who responded!

Do you have an age or gender preference for roommates? no preferences really. I'm male, Natalie is a female nerd friend.
Include a brief description about yourself: This will be mine and Natalie's second time at SDCC, last year we stayed in mission valley, this time right in the gaslamp. We are both general pop culture nerds, I have a bit more sci-fi leanings ala Doctor Who, Firefly, Sliders etc, she is a little more fantasy leaning. She is a graphic designer and into comics and web comics. We will be going to Nerdist show and NerdHQ I'm sure. We are both pretty easy going.  Woke up super earlier to camp for Friday last year and went generally early the other days.
Specific behavioral preferences for roommates? Non smokers, just be polite and clean, hopefully not a loud snorer!

Found a room, thanks!
Hotel: None, looking for space for 1 person

Price: N/A
Smoking/Drinking: Non-smoker. I drink, but I doubt I will be too drunk among strangers.
Spaces Left: Need Space for 1 Person

Preferably a place with laundry. I don't care about genders and ages of the people in the room I am sharing, I am just looking for a good price.

Include a brief description about yourself: I am a 27 year old male software engineer. I live and work in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I will be in Las Vegas the weekend before SDCC for the EVO fighting game championships. I suck at fighting games, but I do like going to that tournament. I have not decided yet when and how I am traveling from Las Vegas to San Diego yet, that is why I mentioned I was flexible with the dates above. My return flight to Toronto is early on Tuesday morning. This will be the first time I will be going to SDCC and I am excited. I have been to a few local cons in Toronto. I am not a cosplayer, but I watched over my nephews who did cosplay during their visit to the local con in Toronto last year.

Specific behavioral preferences for roommates? Preferably quiet roommates when I expect to be sleeping.

Hotel: LOOKING FOR A ROOM

Days Booked: Friday night, possibly Thursday night as well depending on cost
Price: Need to keep it at or under $100/night
Smoking/Drinking: Not a smoker, likelihood to drink depends on the crowd (I rarely have more than a beer or two)
Spaces Left: Need just one space for myself.

Preferences and Description:
Age/gender of roommates doesn't matter much, I'm a lady but most of my close friends are dudes so I am accustomed to platonically & comfortably sharing rooms. I am a 22 year old nanny & craft enthusiast (also working part time at a popular craft supply store), but will turn 23 about a week before the con so SDCC is my birthday present to myself this year. Super low-maintenance (willing to squish myself in a corner on the floor in my sleeping bag!), friendly, quiet sleeper, will probably be looking to attend some of the post-con parties/bar gigs, but am not planning on drinking much or partying all night. I wasn't planning on making it out for the con until I happened to score Friday/Saturday badges in the resale (by which time all affordable rooms & hotels had sold out), so any help I can get would be greatly appreciated!

I think I managed to find a spot. Thanks to all who replied!

Price: $188 total per person for all 5 nights, IF we can get all the roommates me need
Smoking/Drinking: We drink when the time is right.  We do not smoke, but you are welcome to do so outside of room
Spaces Left: we need two people who don't mind sharing a bed, and one person who wouldn't mind being on the couch/blow up mattress/rollaway bed

Preferences and Description:
What type of room is it, and how many people can it fit? 2 queens and I believe there is a couch.  They said we can also get roll away beds
Do you have an age or gender preference for roommates? no preferences on age or gender.

Name: Rinemy (Jonathan)
Hotel: Doubletree Downtown San Diego (1 King or 2 Double Beds w/ Floorspace availible) 1 Mile from Convention Center!!
Google Maps Link: http://goo.gl/maps/TmBo5 (http://goo.gl/maps/TmBo5)

Days Booked: Wednesday Night and Thursday Night
Price:  $100/day (1 person) or $150 (2 people)
Smoking/Drinking: No Smoking, Responsible Drinking is OK
Spaces Left: 1 person or a party of two
Preferences and Description:
1 King Bedroom or Two Double Beds

Do you have an age or gender preference for roommates?
No preference.

Include a brief description about yourself:
I am a 26 year old male and this will be my first time at Comic Con. I'm actually only attending the con for one day. I enjoy comics, anime, tv, movies and video games but not to an extreme level. I actually much prefer being active and working out these days. I'm actually a Northern California Bay Area native, I currently work as an engineer. Very mature and will have a lot of respect towards my roommate (ie: if I play music I will use headphones). I only have a pass to Thursday this year from the resale but I'm treating myself to this as a birthday gift to myself. as well as to have fun.

Specific behavioral preferences for roommates?
I'd prefer a non-smoker and someone who doesn't have bad snoring habits.

Note:
2 spaces is only for a party of two! I expect the party of two should be comfortable sharing 1 bed together otherwise takes the floor.
Regardless if you are a single person or have a party of 2. You will get 1 bed, if the room only contains a single King Sized bed, I will take the floor.

The room costs $197 a night total before taxes which would make it come out to around $250 so I believe my asking price of $100 is very fair. And especially better if you have a party of 2 to bring.

Name: Male
Hotel: US Grant Hotel - 9 blocks from Convention Center Downtown
Days Booked: Wednesday & Thursday night - check out Friday
Price: Negotiable. I do not have a place to stay on Friday & Saturday night. I am willing to do a trade so long as the hotel in question is in the vicinity of the convention center. I was only able to purchase a Thursday and Sunday badge but I am staying in San Diego for the weekend. Visiting from elsewhere.
Smoking/Drinking: I do not smoke and request the same.
Spaces Left: 1 or 2 people depending on the room arrangement. I assume 2 queen beds will be available and would prefer to sleep in a bed separately.

Preferences and Description:
As mentioned earlier I have not received a specification on the bed layout, I assume 2 queen beds, depending on allocation you can decide the sleeping arrangement. I am traveling alone.

Do you have an age or gender preference for roommates?
Male or female does not matter, age 21-40 does not really matter. You have to be respectful, non-confrontational, and allow for entrance to the room at any hour of the night.

Include a brief description about yourself: I am a male 31 years old, travelling from abroad this is the second time I've visited the San Diego Comic Con. I am a friendly laid back guy. I do intend to leave the room at any hour and return at any hour. I will remain as quiet as possible in consideration for room mates. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.

I prefer a roommate that is organized, clean, and a non-smoker.

I have my reservation confirmed I would prefer serious inquiries and offers in exchange for stay on Friday and Saturday night.

Thanks.

EDIT

Have room available on Saturday and Sunday as well. Need space for a Friday night.

Price: I'm not looking to get rich off this, just recoup some of the expense, i'll take 400$ for the duration if i can get you a bed, 250$ if i can't...

Smoking/Drinking: Non smokers only please... i hate the smell of it, sorry... i'm a light drinker, at best, so would prefer like minded people...

Spaces Left: 1

Looking for a room for 4 people
Days needed: Wednesday - Sunday
Smoking/Drinking: We're non-smokers and we won't be drinking. Prefer non-smokers, but don't mind responsible drinking.

Preferences and Description: There are four females, early 20s. I've been attending SDCC since 2008, the other girls have been on and off for some of the years. I'll personally be paying for all four of us, so I'm looking to find a cheap place for all four days. We can all fit on at least a full-size bed. No preference for roomates.

If people are still looking for roomies, I've seen on Craigslist that there's some people looking for a place to rent or hotel to share. They *might* not me murderers. ;)

Hello fellow Con-Goers,

3 of my friends & I are looking for lodging/hotel rooms. We all have 4-day passes, but have not had any luck booking a room. We are all very kick back, clean, courteous, polite, friendly, and fun-loving veteran Comic-Con attendees (have been attending since 2006!)

Please let us know if anyone has an extra room or extra space. You can email me at [email protected] or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/mark.a.guirguis

Thanks.

Smoking/Drinking: smoking no, drinking yes or no
Spaces Left: 3 or 4 is fine, maybe more if possible

Include a brief description about yourself: a normal person, will be cosplaying at sdcc, very quiet, cool guy, etc.
Specific behavioral preferences for roommates? A good and honest person is all I ask
Another thing I ask if I could also hang out with anyone that will be staying at the hotel with me that way I don't go to the con all by myself.
Title: Re: 2013 Room Sharing: Looking for a spot? Offering a spot? Looking for a Roommate?
Post by: hedgesmfg on July 08, 2013, 11:18:24 PM
Name: Stephen
Hotel: Old Town Western Inn and Suites - Located a few blocks from the Old Town Green stop location. Which is only a 13 minute trolley ride from the con, on the most active line.
Days Booked: 7/17-7/21 (As in, check out is on Sunday afternoon)
Price: 266$ per person for the entire duration. Looking for no more than 2 people. Also looking for people who can stay for at least Thursday-Sunday.
Smoking/Drinking: No Smoking, Drinking, maybe. We have one under 21 person in the room, so it's iffy.
Spaces Left: 1, maybe 2. Currently only 3 in the room, seeking no more than 5 people total.

Preferences and Description.
Room type: Currently a double bed setup. With luck, maybe we can get a cott too, but I can't make promises. The hotel limits us to 4 room keys, but we're currently set for 4 people total. We can get a 5th one in without trouble, but I won't push it anywhere beyond that. I may still cut off at 4 total.
Age/Gender: The room currently has 2 males, one female, all under aged 30. My friend and I are both traveling to the con from the midwest, to meet a female friend of mine who will join us in the room. I'm fairly open minded so long as I can tell you're a fun/honest straightforward person... though I do lean a bit towards the under 30 category.
Talk about yourself: I'm a long time 27 year old male cosplayer/convention fan panelist and an experienced traveler/congoer in general. I'm a Chicago native who has traveled from east coast to west coast for cons before, including NYCC, C2E2, Otakon, Dragoncon, Anime Expo, ACEN, Youmacon, Ohayocon, and others. This is, however, my very first SDCC. Still, I am prepared and have researched the con as much as one reasonably can from a distance. I've also done 'some' press work in recent years, though none for this con.
Behavior: I've met many wonderful and fun congoers over the years. All I ask is that you be responsible, friendly, honest, open and reasonable. I love making new friends all across the country. Also, please do not bring non-roommates unless I specifically give the okay for it. No room parties.
Final Notes: First, I will personally be arriving at the hotel Wednesday afternoon before I depart to get my badge, and then to downtown SD for a bit of con center sight seeing. You're welcome to hang out with me and my friends as the week goes on, especially if you're a veteran or want someone to travel with. Just be aware that I may have some fairly crazy plans like camping out on Saturday evening for Hall H on Sunday, and also leaving the hotel rather early Thursday morning to nab some dealers room exclusives. You do not have to follow me for this, but I will be limited to only 4 room keys. If we have 5 people, one person may need to rely on the others.

PM me here, or email me at [email protected]. After that, we'll take it from there!

Hi! My friends and I are looking for somebody who has a hotel reservation they can't use anymore and wants to transfer it. Preferably downtown, one or two beds -- doesn't matter. Not looking for a particular hotel. Either from July 17th to 21st or the 18th to 21st is preferable, but if you have something different, willing to consider it.

Thank you!

Really looking forward to the Sandman 25th Anniversary stuff and will seek out some Doctor Who. Game of Thrones and Walking Dead, yes please! Anything Joss Whedon or Kevin Smith is good for me. Have tentatively found something cheap, but hit me up if you have floor space at the Hilton Bayfront, Marriott, Manchester Grand Hyatt, somewhere super close to the convention center.

Name: T
Hotel: LOOKING FOR ROOM (OR FLOOR SPACE) as close as possible to convention center

Days Booked: Getting in Thursday (7/18) morning before the start of programming and leaving Sunday (7/21) afternoon.
Price: Cheap would be nice but open to discussion...
Smoking/Drinking: Non-smoking and occasional drinker (I can either drink or not drink...)

Preferences and Description:
I'm a female in my early 20's. I'm okay with whatever arrangement but looking for something as close to the convention center as possible (no car...need to probably catch an amtrak train to LA on Sunday to catch a flight). Male and females are okay; I'm coming with a sleeping bag, so I'm completely okay crashing on the floor. I don't need much space...probably just a large backpack and a messenger bag.

I've been going to SDCC since 2008, but this is my first year going it alone. I did some camping out last year (Firefly and Fringe panels were calling my name...), but this year I probably won't. I attend mainly TV panels (with the occasional comic book and academic panels thrown in) and some offsite events; I have a penchant for art so will probably have a couple of mailing tubes with me as well. I'm neat, a super deep sleeper, and have done a lot of couch surfing/camping in the last couple of years so most conditions don't bother me.

If you have a spot (or floor space) or know of someone who does, and it's relatively close to the convention center, please contact me. Thanks!

NAME: Joshua
HOTEL: Doesn't much matter, just preferably relatively close to the Convention Center
Dates: Sunday Night(leaving on Monday morning)
Rate: Doesn't matter, just hoping something relatively inexpensive(preferably $50 or less)

I'm not seeing much still available, so in case someone still has something which isn't posted, or I overlooked it:

I have a roomshare set up through through Sunday, but I ended up getting a flight out at schedule for Monday morning(6:18AM).
Does anyone have any space in their room for one more. I was hoping to possibly bring my bags(should just be two carry-on size bags) early Sunday morning and then just crashing for a few hours after the Con closes on Sunday before heading to the airport early on Monday morning.

Thanks.

Include a brief description about yourself:  This is my Fifth year going to Comic-con with my friend David.  We used to work together at a local college and have known each other for about 10 years.   David and I have been going to Dragon*con in Atlanta for the last 5 years.  For CCSD, we tend to be campers under the tents or early risers in the line for Hall H.  I am in my early 30s and my friend David is in his 40s.   I am looking forward to the panels with Game of Thrones, Ender's Game, Dexter, and all the up coming movies panels.
Specific behavioral preferences for roommates: Prefer roommates that are socially fun and considerate. Lite cosplay is fine as long as its organized.   Keeping a Quiet Environment at night if someone is sleeping.  Need an early riser to wake me up to get in line for Hall H and maybe join us as a line buddy?

Feel free to contact me if you need a room share with a PM.

I have two hotel rooms available actually (I was too over anxious and booked only to realize that a friend offered me to stay with her on Sunday! I was trying to cover all of my bases)

1.) Hotel Circle along the 24 hour shuttle route. Wed-Sunday a total of $785.65. The room is designed to fit TWO people. But you guys can work it out

2.) (This was when I thought I could be closer) Hotel Indigo. The check in in actually Tuesday through Sunday at the total of $2538.24. It is a gorgeous hotel and pet friendly! It has a great rooftop bar and pool, and also free Wifi. It's in the Gas Lamp district and a 5 minute brisk walk or 10 min slow walk. Parking is $39 per day. Feel free to share with others!
