Emails going out

Quote
In light of the announcement made by the Board of Directors of San Diego Comic Convention (see the official announcement here), daily volunteers have sent us many questions about their status for Comic-Con 2021. All those currently registered as a daily volunteer for Comic-Con 2020 will have to re-register for Comic-Con 2021 later this fall. Returning Comic-Con 2020 daily volunteers are guaranteed to get into the 2021 daily volunteer program when they register online.

An email notice will be sent when daily volunteer registration opens for Comic-Con 2021. Do not opt out of emails from us, or you may miss the notice. We will miss you all but hope to see you next year!!

Sue Lord
Director of Volunteer Services

Pretty much a best-case scenario for returning volunteers.

Volunteers

If you are currently registered as a daily volunteer for Comic-Con 2020, you will have to re-register for Comic-Con 2021 later this fall. Returning Comic-Con 2020 daily volunteers are guaranteed to get into the 2021 daily volunteer program when they register online. An email notice will be sent when daily volunteer registration opens for Comic-Con 2021. Do not opt out of emails from us, or you may miss the notice.

If you have never volunteered before and would like to volunteer for Comic-Con 2021, we will open the daily volunteer Interest List at a later date. Getting on the Interest List does not guarantee that you will get into the daily volunteer program, but it does give you a chance to apply. Please check this page frequently for updates, or follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for the latest registration announcements.

I just saw an email from CCI regarding @Home Volunteer Challenge.  It's urging us to volunteer for a non profit during the week Comic Con would have occurred.  I don't know how I missed it.

Did anybody else get an email?

I did! Who else is going to do it?

It also mentioned something about still having the blood drive in San Diego, but place and time for the drive are still TBD.

You might be able to combine two things into one.  Blood donation sites are starting to test for covid like they do HIV.  Just as with that, you will get tested as part of donating blood.  When I was younger I used to give blood.  Now I can't because I've spent too much time in Europe.

COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL SuperVolunteer Series Volume 1

In early June, we issued a challenge to our daily and department volunteers registered for Comic-Con 2020 to find a non-profit in their community and spend some time volunteering there. We are happy to report that many of our volunteers accepted the challenge! They were asked to email us  a photo or two and a little bit about the experience to earn a "SuperVolunteer" badge. Starting today, we'll be highlighting some of them in a series every Tuesday and Thursday leading up to Comic-Con@Home. We are so proud of their efforts and know that Comic-Con volunteers are truly dedicated to making the world a better place.

COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL SuperVolunteer Series Volume 2

Welcome to the second installment of our SuperVolunteer series! If you missed our SuperVolunteer debut, you can check it out here. Fostering animals is of great benefit to the animal shelters that are over-crowded, to the animals themselves and to the people that become their forever families.

Was browsing the comic con merch store and found a "my volunteer jobs" section under account. Maybe implementing signing up for assignments online so you don't have to wait in line for next day assignments next year?

Poking around, I spied that, too.  Hmmmm... ::)  That would make things easier to keep track of.

I have mixed feelings. On one hand I would love to not have to go to Marriott every day to sign up but at the same time it would feel like another ticket sale and I don't want that.
