Just saw a commercial for it. The premiere is tonight. I have a 'thing' for disease disaster shows/movies. Sick, right?
Which disease disaster show/movie do you think has done the best job?
I got to see the pilot at WonderCon and was intrigued. I did a little writeup about the Containment panel on our website, if anyone's interested. You are not allowed to view links. I thought it was just going to be like a "hello" and "how are you" kind of thing, but they genuinely tried to talk to everyone and were really nice! Did a writeup about that experience too: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Oooh. Thank you for asking. I just realized I have never really chatted about this penchant I have. One of my favorites is 'Outbreak', with Dustin Hoffman and Rene Russo, and Morgan Freeman. It is funny because I don't really like Hoffman or Russo (love the Morgan Freeman). 'Outbreak' strikes a chord for me. The relationship between them was tense yet caring. The disease process was harrowing and swift. There was compassion, ruthlessness and wide reaching, escalating panic. And, of course, we knew that one of the two would be put at ultimate risk, etc. Director Wolfgang Petersen knows how to build tension, then let it out...and I love it.How about you?
It was more the book, but I enjoyed the mini series also. I really liked The Stand, I think because it was my very first introduction to the genre (it gets weird at the end but I find with disease shows/movies/books they have trouble with the endings.) I did enjoy outbreak and I think blindness was one of my least favorites.
I read your write-ups and enjoyed them. You helped me feel as if I was there. Your pictures were very cool, too. Thank you for taking me to WonderCon.
