The District of Columbia is suing Marriott over this practice. File a complaint with the Attorney General of California if you are serious.

Well apparently from what I can tell from hotel reviews the fee was in effect last June, well we stayed in July last year and it’s not there. So I don’t know what the deal is.

Pretty sure they just don't charge it, but the online system shows it. At least for MMM.

Yeah, I just checked, and my confirmation from MMM in 2018 listed the fee, but my final bill didn't include it.

Anyone have experience with multiple people at Springhill Suites Bayfront? We've got the two queens/sofa sleeper and six people, since theoretically everyone will have a bed space and be a bit cozy on the sofa sleeper. Will we be super cramped?

Also, advice on how to get room keys to take care of most everyone? I assume they won't issue us 6. Are mobile keys a thing at the Springhill? Can you hook multiple people up with those?

We've stayed at Springhill Suites Bayfront, but with 5 people. We were fine and enjoyed our stay - I think it would be fine for 6 people too. As for room keys, I believe the max that Springhill Suites Bayfront considers for a room is 5, so you can easily ask for 5 room keys. I always ask for the max allowed in the room.

The totals on the hotel site include a destination fee that kind of adds up. It wasn't included in the onPeak pricing.

Yep, that's slimy. If it shows up when I get to the MGH then I'm going to contest it because it was NOT originally listed.

Hyatt Andaz also has that. I saw it there because I was planning to stay at the Andaz for a couple days after Comic-Con and that fee was NOT disclosed anywhere during booking or in my confirmation email...but now apparently it's listed for new reservations. Anyway, I checked my account and suddenly it showed up. This one I probably could contest too...but it was just as easy to cancel and book somewhere else, so I did that instead.

Does anyone who have Residence Inn Gaslamp had their dates transfer over wrong?  I booked Wednesday through Monday OnPeak but Residence Inn website is saying Wednesday through Sunday.  I was able to add Sunday night directly through the hotel thankfully.  Fingers crossed that the deposit went over as well since Residence Inn is showing I owe the full amount.

I still haven't received an email confirmation that my hotel reservation was transferred over to The Sofia. Should I be worried?

Edit: Nevermind, I just called The Sofia to let them know I'll be arriving late and the rep confirmed that I had a reservation for Tuesday and also the OnPeak reservation.

I haven’t received a confirmation email either (for MGH, but that could be because someone else put the deposit down and we did the OnPeak transfer after? In any case, the OnPeak info still looks good, so I’m not TOO worried.

And actually I just tried to add the confirmation number to the Hyatt app, and it said I can’t because it’s through a third party.

Something similar happened at HBF, I just called directly and added it to my reservation

Interesting... I rec’d an email from the Omni where we are staying for only wed night, which offered an upgrade, late ck out, etc. But nothing from the MGH, where we finish thru sun. I was thinking maybe I’d hear from them tomorrow. I’m a Hyatt member so thought I would ck in anyways to try to add my number. Last year I just did it at ck in. Can’t wait:)

MGH does not charge destination fee during Comic-con.  Just checked in and have to pay it up until Wednesday.  No problems combining my two reservations

So I managed to cancel 2 extra hotel rooms I had for single days, and the lady with whom I spoke said she'd waive the cancelation fee/deposit. Does anyone know how the refund will with since the charge says through onpeak?
