A Los Angeles landmark, Staples Center, home of the Lakers, the Clippers, the Sparks, the Kings and the 2000 Democratic National Convention, is changing its name as a result of a $700M deal. The new name will be crypto.com Arena.

I hope they didn't get paid in crypto.

I'm so disgusted. If my ticket helps pay for the name, I'll go watch the Kings play in Anaheim.

Out with the old and in with the new. Aren't most Staples stores out of business now? And Crypto is booming. Makes sense to me.

I don't know how locals feel, but I know when they've renamed arenas here, most people don't bother using the new name — it just feels weird lol
