I was unable to check in early at the Manchester Grand Hyatt last year.  I showed up around 1pm but told room wouldn't be ready till 3.  They stored my luggage and I went over to Horton Plaza for a snack and some shopping.  Also stopped by Ralph's on the way back.

I was able to check in early at the Residence Inn Gaslamp two years ago.

If you have a rewards card, you might have early check in as one of your perks.

Question for anyone who's an HHonors member who's stayed at the Bayfront before: Is it worth going for any of the eStandby upgrade offers, given that the the hotel is all but booked out at this point and there's probably no room for upgrades?

I've done it but never gotten an upgrade. Doesn't hurt to try though.

They are not totally sold out. They have a block of rooms at $600 as of last week.
What are they charging for this?

Oh wow.  $799 is the lowest price I can see, as of right now.  That's insane!

I'd really like a Bay/City view (I've got the Port/Coronado) and it's only $20 extra, so I'm going to try.

HHonors put out the Quarter 3 promo, and the Hilton Bayfront is not on the opt out list. This could be a mistake, but if not it will give you 2-3x the points.

I just saw what they have to offer. If cost is not a factor and you plan on spending a good deal of time in the room you may want to try this out. If I had others not attending the con with me I probably would pull the trigger on one of these.
