I did the general on sale today since I needed an extra Friday ticket. I waited like 5 minutes in the queue and got in with no issues at all. Either less people are trying right now, which makes sense with the two presales or they actually beefed up their system.

I waited for 30 minutes and got mine. I am only doing Thursday and Friday. Never been to new york, and October 7th is my bday. I wanted to treat myself.

I used to skateboard but then stopped doing that and just learned to keep myself balanced on the board and also learn how to dance. I was thinking on the days(Saturday and Sunday) I'm not at the Con, I can explore New York and eat good food.
I am researching what paths are safe to longboard(I don't have that electric kind that you might have seen many people now have)in New York.
These two sites have great information on the paths:

This path seems the most promising and easy to navigate(what I mean is you also get on your phone and map it out before starting the trip): Longboarding along the Manhattan riversides(You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login)

I normally do around 10 miles a day on longboarding. It takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes. I love urban exploring.

What do yall think? Any thoughts?

Badges for all 4 days are still available a day later. I do not think this has happened for a long time (besides maybe last year).

I wonder if this is them at full capacity and maybe somehow tickets are higher than demand, people a bit wary after last years show.

It is surprising to see it not sold out day one.

Wow, I think 2011 was the last time at least one day wasn't fully sold out after the sale.

I'm actually not surprised.  NYCC doesn't necessarily sell out on day one.  In 2019 (the last time I went), it didn't completely sell out.  Fri - Sun did eventually sell out after a while, but Thursday didn't sell out at all.

I am...a little surprised?  I had gotten my badge in a pre-sale, but my gaming buddies forgot about general yesterday.  They were able to get a Saturday badge each this morning.  We'll see how it goes...it'll be interesting to see the differences this year especially between cons.

my first NYCC I got a groupon for a discount to go to the show. Lookout for groupon offers!

Isn't the full capacity higher than it was in 2019 because of all the expansions to the Javitz? Maybe that is it?

Last yeah was both good and bad I think. There weren't a lot of big vendors but the smaller crowd allowed you to move around. I also actually bought comics which is something that I rarely do at NYCC.

2019 had Hammerstein and Hulu Theater, though.

I'm wondering if a significant portion of the regular attendees moved away during the pandemic.  The vast majority of NYCC's attendees are local.
