Love the attitude. Since this is your first SDCC (I think), I would recommend you maybe buying at least a badge for one of the days so you can fully enjoy everything and wander everywhere and not have to trade 3 hours for it.

I've actually thought about this, possibly trying to buy badges for Sunday, as in the past that's when the Doctor Who events have happened.

I think what I'll do is try for Sunday when badges open up, as well as help out anyone here to get badges too  :)

And if we don't end up being able to pick up badges for Sunday, then we will volunteer that day.

Question though, if we get there wednesday, do we have to wait until Thursday to sign in? It seemed like the rules were a little unclear on that when I read the orientation packet.

I'm sure they'll send instructions closer to that day but it looks like you can pick up your assignment the day before after a certain time.

I'm so bummed that they didn't give any advance notice about volunteer registration opening.  I got no tweets, emails, nada.  :(

sounds like notifications were only sent to the folks from last year who were wait listed. someone posted on the fb page about it and sites picked up on it. maybe not that many spots available between returning volunteers and wait list that it wasn't formally announced.

Since I didn't attend last year, I wasn't on the list.  Oh well!  Maybe next time.

I keep thing that the volunteer reg. was very hidden and short for such a large organization, everyone who wants to volunteer might want to keep an eye on their email for a second round of volunteering
Purely a wild thought

yeah wouldn't be surprised if there's a small opening for more after badge sales as some will cancel.

Last year one of the volunteers sold me his Sunday ticket for $150 lol. I was hoping to be a volunteer just so i can go cause buying tickets is almost impossible.

Just a reminder that scalping is NOT ALLOWED ON THIS SITE whether you are a buyer or a seller.

We do not condone any activity that goes against the CCI rules and regulations.

So how else you supposed to get tickets? When they sell out they sell out. Now you gotta buy them however you can. Really dont think Comic-con cares sense they already made there money, esp if someone bought a ticket and they now arnt gonna use it. Makes sense to sell it rather then waste it. Just saying....

I understand your point. Just not something we'll promote here on the site as I explained in the PM. There are plenty of other options available if that is the route anyone chooses to take.

If someone doesn't want to use the badge they purchased, they have until 05/15 to submit a request for a full refund so they are not out any money.

Buddy you didn't get scalped, you got bent over and .... I'll be nice "spanked." $150 for a Sunday Badge? I'm not promoting buying tickets you're not supposed to or similar but did you even comparison shop for a second?

Really? haha Id love to see you get a resell ticket for less then $150. Last year was my 6th year in a row going and i know for a fact most tickets including sunday will be over $300 this year. Sorry it sucks but thats the way it is. For something that sells out in 90mins and you didnt get a ticket your gonna pay a high price to get one.

Keep in mind there's never been a 2nd round of volunteering openings for SDCC. 5,000 volunteers is plenty to divvy up between Tuesday-Sunday at SDCC.
