*****See post on 9/18/2012 in this thread regarding pricing changes*****

This appears to be set up by the guys who started SDCC 40 years ago.

If you are planning on going to this mini convention, the prices go up as the event gets closer.  So if you know you want to go, buy them now!   :)

The San Diego Comic Fest has been intentionally designed to be a smaller, more-intimate convention experience. In addition to convention attendees, this number includes convention staff, volunteers, and professional guests.

Reminder:  Prices increase for this show on Sunday.  So buy your tickets soon if you know that you know that you are going to this show.

Seems cool, but seems pretty expensive for how small it is.  I'd consider going (I live in San Diego), but not at those prices.

It is priced a little high--I would like to see them have lower prices and offer single day tickets.  But since its close, I'm going to give it a try.

On a different note, if people are planning on attending, they are capping the attendance at 1,000 people.  So if you want to go, buy your ticket sooner rather than later.

It appears that they are no longer doing the price increases as the show gets closer and it is staying at the lowest of their prices with:

$50 general admission
$25 Child Aged 11-15
Free Child Aged 0-10

if they're not raising prices on tickets, I bet their show's not a whole lot bigger than Long Beach Comic Expo. Another thing is I wish this was closer to where I live. Then I could arrive early to eat whatever breakfast buffet the hotel offers.

They have just added single day tickets $25 for Friday or Saturday and $15 for Sunday.   $50 for all three days.

And here is an article about the show.  50 dealers is a good number.

I'm going on Friday and Sunday unless something comes up this week. One thing I've learned about conventions is to go on the first or last day, and not inbetween.

I noticed on the web site that tickets are available at the door...I'm curious to hear some feedback from anyone who went to SDCF today.  Was it well attended?  Did everyone show up? (guests, dealers, etc.)  I might pop in later this weekend.

Not worth it in my opinion.  It was maybe 20 vendors with 9 being comic vendors.  One with quarters bins which were half empty when I left.  Four $1 vendors mostly with 80's stuff.  Other silver and bronze age stuff looked overpriced other than Southern California Comics.  It is about the same size as So Cal Comic Con, but costs $25 for one day rather than $5 for So Cal.

I would guess that there were 100-200 people there.

I was very disappointed and was hoping for better.

Thanks for your feedback!  I've seen your posts here and other sites and your opinion is valued by me.  Was there at least a cool t-shirt?   :)

No problem--I wanted to make sure people knew what they were getting into before spending their money on admission.  :)

There were some people that were wearing Comic Fest t-shirts.  I am not sure of they were for sale or were only for the staff.  It has the super hero dude on it from their website (the guy with the antenna).
