Register or LoginSo I get that during checkout you may only buy tickets for up to three people. I am planning on joining a buying group for pre-reg. Let's say I am lucky and get chosen. I buy 4 days for myself, and badges for 2 other people (doesn't matter the amount of days). According to the rules, I am maxed out on how many badges I an buy for pre-reg.
Now, my girlfriend wants to go, but she's never been before. She can only get tickets during open registration. Open-reg comes around. Since I didn't buy myself a ticket for preview night, I can still requeue. Say I am double lucky and get chosen again. Can I now buy her a ticket? Technically, she will be the fourth person I buy tickets for, but this is a whole new registration. (if it helps, I am not buying myself a preview night ticket, just used that to get into the queue for her [She also has her own member ID and is trying, but isn't lucky enough to get selected]).

It resets for open registration. You can buy for three people in Returning Reg, and three more in Open Reg (if you are still eligible).

If you bought 4 days plus PN night you will NOT be eligible for open reg. Anything short and you can get another spin on the ticket wheel (not literal wheel). So say you get drawn the second time again, you can remove your name on the reg form and insert anyone else. It's any 3 eligible people not you (or whoever gets drawn) plus two.

I can't figure out how to 'like' comments like I've seen before (I am new here) so take this 👍
NoOtherOptions!:
To be clear, those 3 people need to have been registered prior to closure of the registration system whenever open reg is. So even if your friends are a "maybe" make them a name.

6) If during open registration someone in the group I am part of buys me a ticket, will I normally get an instant confirmation (e.g. an email)? Asking because if I then get the chance to buy tickets, I would be buying for three people that are not me, and at that point I'm wondering if I'm taking on faith that the other person has in fact actually bought my ticket?

Hi [member=6685]Meka[/member]: Just thought I'd pop in (really late) and provide my 2 cents on this as a group leader (and someone who is overly paranoid about my own badge): If you get out of the waiting room and someone has already bought your badge in the group, you can always verify the purchase by plugging in your CCI ID and seeing if you can buy anything for yourself. If someone has already bought your badge, it will return an error saying you can't buy another badge for that CCI ID (or that you can only buy whatever days weren't bought/are still available if you didn't want a full badge).
Buyers can screenshot their confirmation page and send them asap to the badge holders, as opposed to waiting for the confirmation email. I require that in my group - but I'm not sure about others. Also, FOCC (and all the group leaders) takes the trust aspect of these groups really seriously and does their best to protect all their group members from anyone that has behaved shadily in the past.
Good luck to you in Open Reg!
