Coming from the Oh-so-very-much-warm Middle east :)

Both me and the Boy Friend are taking the flight through the UK hoping that the time won't make us go completely insane  :o
it sums up to about 34 hours of being in planes and airports ><" It's going to be a hoot with his fear of flights...
Wow that sounds crazy/awesome!  The few times I've flown internationally (never to the Middle East, but to Australia which was KILLER long) I've taken sleeping pills and slept when the stewardesses said to: that helps adjust to the gnarly time difference though a 9ish hour difference would be difficult regardless.  Last spring I flew to Austria (which is 8 hour difference from San Diego where I live) and I honestly didn't have too many problems when I came home; the flight got in evening time and I went to bed earlier than I normally do but still around 8 or 9 or something at night.  That was a rough travel day, as I figured out we spend about 27 hours from call time in the lobby of the hotel to jump on the shuttle bus until we touched down in San Diego (with a crazy long layover in Minnesota).  If you're flying from London, you can at least get a non-stop flight from London - San Diego so hopefully that would help.

Hopefully you guys can fly in a day or two early to be able to adjust.  For me personally Comic-Con is pretty draining, and I sleep in my own bed and drive about 20/25 minutes to the convention center; doing Comic-Con w/an International jet lag would be difficult

Flying from Sydney Australia and I will be landing day 1 of SDCC. Wasn't a good idea booking flights before securing a badge since I got Thursday and Sunday badges so jetlag is going to be very interesting

That is the plan right now :)
We will be landing at the 19th in the evening and we don't have tickets for PN so we have the 20th to get our without standing in lines for hours straight :)
We do plan on picking up the tickets at the 20th as well so that we won't have to stand in lines the next day... Though I did understand that it is very organized at tickets pick up :) so I am less worried about that.

As long as you have a copy of the barcode, you should have minimal drama getting in to pick up your badge.  Have a safe flight!

Coming from the DFW area of Texas. This will be my 6th SDCC and my mom and I always road trip it out to San Diego. We've done a lot of side trips and site-seeing along the way every year: Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Carlsbad, Roswell, White Sands, Saguaro Nat'l Park, etc. There's a lot of great stuff to see on both the Northern and Southern routes there and back.

Coming in from Maryland.  Bet we have enough people coming in from the mid-Atlantic area that we could have our own plane... ;)

Coming from Dallas also but flying. Your road trip sounds great. May need to try to do that next year.
