Respectfully, I would ask you not to do that simply because that is more tickets that would go unused when there are people that desperately want to go to the show and there already is a ticket shortage.

No one knows the numbers yet, but it is only a portion of the tickets that are going for presales with what I imagine will be the bulk being saved for regular sales.

I am in no way trying to tell you what to do, but am respectfully asking that you not do that.  :)

If I stilled lived in San Diego I would be going  every year; but considering I now live on the other coast; and have missed out getting tickets last year and only was able to get tickets for 2 days this year; I have no issues doing this if it means that this means I have a greater chance to go when I can and is something that I can live with.  It might not be a popular decision with some; but it works for me.

I like it.

However, I think that they should, given the stated restrictions about who may purchase badges and the number of badges they may purchase, make it possible to check out with the number you would like and enter the member ID separately versus checking out of one transaction completely before attempting the second.  That way families can be assured they are either all going to get tickets (with stated badges) or not going to get badges.  I would not have gotten to go if we hadn't been able to secure both of our badges.

You should have included an "I don't know" option.  Being that I was not successful in getting a badge in last year's pre-reg, it's hard for me to say whether or not we'd be better off keeping on-site pre-reg.  I opted not to vote.

Good point. Added an option for not sure...

Oh I definitely don't like restocking fees especially at electronics stores. Was just thinking out loud as to solutions to make pre reg work the way it is intended in rewarding loyal attendees while also keeping people from hording badges.

In that case, how about calling it something like a "commitment fee" instead of a "restocking fee"?  Make just enough of the amount nonrefundable, to encourage people to only buy tickets if they intend on going, but still not completely screw them over if something does come up.

In theory it sounds good. I didn't try out the new system this year though (bought tix onsite last year) but if this is strictly limited to those that have a badge already it should hopefully work fine, but you know there are people that will find a way around this  >:(

i agree with this because it just makes the process so much easier than doing 2 separate transactions.

Sorry if I this is a silly question but I do not fully get this pre-registration...
I live overseas and I want to go to Comic Con next year with my wife. I have just did (10 minutes ago) our Member ID registration. Since I do not live in the US, I really want to go all the 4 days, otherwise it may be not worth it.

I'm reading everywhere and trying to understand how this really works, can anyone please help me?

Thank you so much!

What exactly is your question? I'll cover the basics and then you can ask a specific question.

In August some time, CCI will open up pre-reg exclusively to anyone that bought a badge for 2012. They will cap the # of badges sold at around 50%.  Some time after that (I'd guess October or later), they will open up the remaining amount of badges to everyone that has a Member ID. Odds are good that the deadline for refund requests will be some time in May meaning there will be one final badge sale after that.

As someone who didn't go for 2012, you'll likely have 2 good chances to buy badges but keep in mind that they basically sold out within less than an hour meaning you need to be quick and you need to have just a little luck. Hope that helps - feel free to ask additional questions!

Hopefully they won't pick Saturday, August 4.  I'll be in Honolulu that day and won't have access to a computer.  I'll have my iPhone, but I'm not confident I can get in an online waiting room with my iPhone without getting kicked out.

If they go according to plan, they'll provide almost a week's advance notice and perhaps that'll help you prepare. The problem may be the time difference since if it's 8 or 9am in CA then you're looking at 5-6am? where you are?

I spoke to one lady in line from Ontario CAN, and she had two computers and iphone ready for badge sales, and the phone worked for her when the PCs didn't  :D

During Savings Time, Hawaii is three hours behind California.  Most likely my body clock will still be on California time since I'll will arrive the day before.  I asked my younger brother who will be visiting me here this week if he could bring his MacBook so I could take it with me to Hawaii.

The only problem I have with my iPhone is how to set it so that it won't go to sleep.  It does that after a minute of inactivity.

I tried to use my iPhone for the initial badge sales on March 3.  I got in the waiting room at #10,000, then it refreshed to #6,667 and suddenly it stopped refreshing suggesting a broken connection.  I don't know why that happened but I assumed it was because my iPhone kept going to sleep after a period of inactivity.

Settings, General, Auto-Lock

If you do not have a "Never" setting, it's because an Exchange server is restricting the option.
