I only place the blame on Nat Geo because the head of NN SD mentioned both this year and last year that the decision not to cap RSVPs came from them.

I did not know this.  That changes my POV.

Anyone else go this year?

I like the party, but I didn't love it.  We left after we had a few drinks and ate some food--about 90 minutes in.  But, that probably gave others a chance to get in.

We ended up not going because we heard they started letting people in at 5pm. No way we're we ever getting in. We had a relaxed night.

We ended up going to the Carnival Row party instead. We still had to get in line at 5pm but at least they capped the line so we knew we were getting in.

They were not letting people into the party at 5PM.  I came as a VIP guest and they didn't let us in until 8PM.  No one was up there when I got in.  In fact, it seemed it was just VIP's for the first 20 minutes or so.

There were things you could grab from the tables.  But, I didn't grab anything.  Other people did.  I'm not really a swag person, unless it's really amazing.

The swag was mostly metal cups advertising Gordon Ramsey's new show and foam brain covers.

They didn't start letting people in till 8, which wee the VIPs.  Then around 8:20 everyone else. They Def let in more people this year than last and it showed.  Harder to get around, longer waits for drinks.

Also there was so much more people there it was hard to hear the presentations which were really awesome and the whole point of the show.

Overall it was not a bad party but not as enjoyable as previous years.

If by "go" you mean looked out from the window of your 6th floor room, watched the video clips on the big screen, and then eventually fell asleep to the thumping bass of a Taylor Swift song, then yes...I went.

I went. It was my first time. The free food and drinks were nice, but it was super crowded and no one paid attention to the presenters. It wasn't what I thought it would be. Although I waited for The Boys party longer, it was a much better experience imo.
