Yup, and his definitive statement lends much credence to what we all have been speculating, that SDCC itself had a hand in shutting them down and others like it (eg Geek & Sundry).Incidentally, Felicia Day recently tweeted that she may not have a reason to go to SDCC this year. I’m sure if SDCC didn’t have a say, she could’ve brought back Geek & Sundry given she had no other commitments.The more I think about it, the more I think that period from 2013-2016 was the heyday of SDCC offsites that will sadly never be replicated.
Years ago, they had a booth at NYCC, they sold merchandise and had Smiles for Smiles and Signings for smiles, but I don’t think they had any panels or an offsite location.
Probably but not to SDCC. Markets more like Austin or other cons on a smaller scale.

I don't think CCI is clamping down on 'quality offsites'. I suspect what they are clamping down on is 'alternate cons', meaning offsites that have panels.
