Yes I did dream about it last night!  It was weird - I was happily completing the form over & over, like a sort of Groundhog Day.  I wasn't at all frantic like in the old days when you were crazily trying to complete the form.  I don't know what the dream means...but I was happy. Weird!

It is 2023 and I am still asking...where's my flyin' car??!! @fannishmarcia

Did anyone else DREAM about hotelpocalypse last night?! :o

Close! Instead I just had general Comic Con anxiety dreams all night. Stuff like—I get to the airport and realize I’ve forgotten all my luggage, I wake up and realize I’ve slept through a whole days worth of panels, or no matter how hard I look I can’t find the panel room I’m looking for. You know, the usual. /facepalm

Same here! Dreamt about hotel hell day and how I kept messing up the form and did not have much luck! I do photography and my dreams always involve me having major issues with the camera and or leaving all my equipment behind All of Comic Con is anxiety inducing!

Our roommate was at work once, used just his phone, and got us bayfront.  So miracles happen.

My husband was once in the car on the highway, on a cellular hotspot, on his laptop, and he got us the Hilton Bayfront. But that was back in the days when it was speed of filling out the form.

Curious ... if my son and I are both doing Hotelpocalypse and say I get in first and enter all the info. Does it make any sense to do it again if he gets in? Should be put the exact same order of the hotels or should be switch it up a bit? I don't know how the sorting of hotels actually works.

If you both get in around nearly the same time (like same minute), then it might make sense to list the same hotels but in a slightly different order.

But if one gets in much later than the other, chances are that later one will not have a shot at the most in-demand hotels (ie, those closest to the con), so in that case, it'd make sense to start listing hotels further away (like, for instance, Westin or Holiday Inn by the Bay).

Personally, I always submit two forms, and there's generally very little overlap on the two lists of hotels.

So happy to see this forum is still up and running and if I bomb during hotelapocalypse there is still a Plan B.  I have found wonderful rooms, for two past cons thanks to this forum!  May the odds be ever in our favor! :-\

Well, I got a good night’s sleep last night, even in the throes of deep Hotelpocalypse anxiety, so that’s gotta be a good sign, I’ve decided. May the odds be ever in our favor, fellow FoCC’ers! Let’s do this.

Good luck everyone.

I feel like I've been away from SDCC and this site for far too long. So just wanted to also say "hi".
