Thanks for sharing! I'm still hoping this might mean they may have allocated more spots for public parking. :)

If they made the groups smaller, then there should be more for the public sale.

Parking is my version of a downtown hotel. My car is everything to me. Rest spot. Cold drinks. Luncheonette. Drugstore. First Aid.

And I have a horrible feeling this year.

Feel the same way Mel.  Buying groups are that even more important now that even PARKING is being a major problem to get.

All parking lots seem to still be available for purchase as of Tuesday night. Assuming the Group 1 buying rush is over, Group 2 should have everything as an option:

And yes, I tested to see if I could buy again (just for research purposes). I couldn’t: when I hit a Book button, it gives me a pop up saying my account is limited to one permit per day.

So how do people keep drinks cold in their car all day?  I usually take an ice chest down with me from LA, but then the hotel refrigerators don't have freezers, so I can't use my ice packs after the first day.

Hotels usually have a ice machine you can use to refill the chest.

Fill a gallon-sized ziploc bag with ice. Then double bag it inside a second gallon-sized ziploc in case it leaks.

You know, for some ridiculous reason, I never tried using the ice from the hotel because it just seemed like it wouldn't last very long.  I have mostly taken ice packs down and hoped that the fridges would have that little freezer shelf some of them do, but usually wind up begging the hotel to put them in the bell desk freezer or something overnight which is a huge pain for everyone.  I'll have to take a bunch of ziplock bags down and try that this time--thanks!

You're right, the bags of ice do not last as long as a gel freezer pack. But they are far better than nothing, and if they're in a good cooler, will last for the day (inside) or most of the day (outside in the heat).

As a bonus, if you have a water bottle, when they melt, you can pour the ice-cold water out to refill your bottle.

There's another company called  Space Parking (space.aceparking.com).

Is that the same as Ace?

They have parking at Pendry Valet and Petco Marriott Gaslamp Valet, which costs $120-$150 which is absolutely gross.

Parking has been a long-standing issue of this event that's not been fully address, that is literally the difference between going and not going. So I'm not going.

I sugest you wait until the open sale to decide about attending

Yeah that what I've been doing in the past. But I think for those of us from outside of SD usually decides a month or so away.

Because the problem gets worse closer to the date, because then we worry for a place to stay and flights (which then gets extremely expensive :).

There’s always parking when open sale happens it’s just not ideal parking everyone wants. Might need to walk a bit and probably not convenient to drop stuff at your car in the middle of the day.

What's the best way to help? Do I reach out to someone on the list and ask what lot they want, and then try to purchase? Or share the winning email address?
