Eventeny --- Suggestions?
« on: July 09, 2022, 07:01:43 PM »
So How are people dealing with keeping track of this panels they want to see?

I was kinda ok with adding them to my google calendar but then realized I had been missing all the Autograph signings. They're not up on the CCI pages but they are up on the eventeny page ??!?

Huge thank you to You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login for organizing & pulling all that data down & putting it in a format that can be easily read & copy/pasted.

short of creating a google sheet for stuff- any suggestions?

I believe you can add the autograph sessions to your calendar from the eventeny site.
I assume that CCI will eventually update the autographs page.

Everything is updating at a snail's pace.

I always use excel, my brain needs the grid format.

I have a separate Google Calendar I named "Event Schedules". I can't deal with the chaos in my main calendar but I dump all the Con stuff in there and then I can look at it by itself and in order.

Definitely missing copy/paste/export from mySched though. And I really hope there's still a printed schedule/guide when we arrive bc my husband is just refusing to even look at it in eventny.

My procedures haven't changed in over a decade. I'll literally print out the schedule (Like Alyssa, Big shoutout to SteveD who has taken the time to show the time, room and description) by day and start highlighting any panel that remotely interests me. Then after that, I tend to mark the panels in three categories: A (must see, center my day around, usually 1-2 panels), B (want to see, usually 3-6 panels) and then C (if I'm in the area and I got nothing better to do, why not, usually 10-15 panels). I just write down my potential sch on the back of each day's printed packet. I'll also add the autographs, booth giveaways/signings, offsites and any other meet or hangout with friends. These I usually keep track in Evernote, creating a new note for each day. I usually lock in what I want to do by the Tues or Wed of Comic Con week (sometimes finishing it up in the PN line). I pretty much have my day planned out like this.

I print out the Autograph signings in a separate packet.

I started doing this for two reasons. 1, this was when phone battery was vital (I have good powerpacks now, but old habits die hard). But 2, I work alot staring at computer screens, so any chance I get to work offscreen, I like to take.

Also, I'd like to note that Eventeny is an absolute dog sxxx program. I wasn't keeping track when they apparently switched to this during Wondercon and SDCC:SE, but boy howdy, what a worthless program to try to use.

I have definitely made use of the FoCC listings for my copy/paste. it's a lot easier without all of the Eventeny formatting.

Having to click on each panel individually to get the description is crazy-making. It's such an incredible waste of time.

Is the SDCC app going to work for this year for scheduling? I see 2022 option but it asks for a login

I have a folder in my google drive with the data I downloaded in Excel format. It's what I used for the panels by room listing. I only have Sunday in there because I am updating the files for the other days, as they have added tags other than programs since they were first posted. This is what I'm going to use to build my schedule.

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login - a separate Google calendar! That is a good idea. I have separate ones for some other fandom related activities, I don't know why I didn't think to apply it to SDCC. Thanks!!
