Comic-Con has updated their transportation pages for 2017

Here is the trolley info:

Quote
MTS Trolley Service

San Diego is home to a great trolley service and best of all, it stops right at the Convention Center, in two different spots: Across from Hall A (Convention Center Station at Harbor Drive and First Ave.), and near Hall D (Gaslamp Station at Harbor Drive and Fifth Ave.).

MTS has a special website page dedicated to Comic-Con 2017; click here to visit it.  You can also use their online Trip Planner tool to plan your trip to Comic-Con at the San Diego Convention Center.

Getting to Comic-Con is just a quick Trolley ride from Mission Valley, Old Town, Qualcomm Stadium, and park-and-ride facilities all over the map.

We are in San Diego for 8 days & my daughter wants to visit UC San Diego. Is there a way to get there by train or public transit that doesn't involve a bunch of transfers? I can't seem to find it on the trolley maps.
Also is there a beach along the coaster that you could recommend?

Does anyone know the best way to get from LAX to San Diego? My ride just split on me.

Probably your easiest option would be to take the Flyaway bus from LAX to Union Station (which should be $9.75) and then take the Amtrak down to San Diego. The final Amtrak stop is on the edge of the Gaslamp and you can easily get on the trolley or grab a taxi from the station.

When I was studying in Tijuana, my friends and I went to UCSD several times and we get there using the trip planner in the MTS website. From the gaslamp/downtown There are like 2 or 3 transfers depending on the day of the week.

If you were planning to go via the Coaster, the university runs a shuttle to and from the Sorrento Valley station. You can find more info You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to get started. Otherwise, the trolley lines don't make it that far north, so if you want to get to the campus by public transit that's not the train, the final mode of transportation is going to have to be a bus (more You are not allowed to view links. As for your other question, Fletcher Cove Beach Park is a short walk from the Solana Beach Amtrak station. There isn't exactly a boardwalk for you to explore like with Pacific/Ocean/Mission Beach, but in terms of easy proximity to sand and water from a station, that might be your best bet. If you want a more immersive beachfront experience, you'll have to find your way to a bus or Uber/Lyft in order to check out one of the aforementioned beaches.

If anybody needs a ride from or back to LA, Anaheim, OC, etc. you can get one for like $39. Check out tesloop.com. Use the discount code "Myles30" and it'll be even cheaper. Also, the ride is in a Tesla with free wifi, snacks, drinks, etc! No need for expensive Ubers or Amtrak rides. Pass on the word. Nobody should not be able to make it because of transportation issues. :)

I am taking the Amtrak back up. I really want to see the beautiful coastline view. But going down, would add 5 hours to my trip D:. I decided to use Tesloop since it picks up right across the street from LAX at the Carl's Jr. No real LA traffic to worry about :)

I decided this was the least stressful option. I'll have to take an Uber to my hotel, but the less stress the better :).  There is one more seat on my loop at about 12:30pm. If anyone here wants to take it, but needs luggage space, I bought an extra seat just for my suitcase and we can got halvies on it.

As a first-time international attendee, I was looking at the shuttle page info and it states you have to show your badge before you get on-"Pick which shuttle route is best for you, and show your Comic-Con badge when you get on ... it's that simple!". Since I have to pick up my badge at Sails Pavillion, I guess I'll have to use the trolley to get down from Mission Valley.
Is this new this year? I thought I saw a post on here saying you could get on the shuttle without a badge?

Just tell them you are international and have to go pick up your badge. Maybe print out your email confirmation/barcoode to show them. I think you will have it with you anyway.

I work right by there. There's no train or trolley. They're still building the trolley stop. You can take the public transit buses. There will be transfers depending on where you're coming from. If it's from downtown, probably a few? I don't think there's a direct bus. They usually stop in old town or nearby first. But the buses run frequently.
