Amtrak Ditches Hole Puncher for iPhone, New Service Tool Scans Tickets
« Reply #45 on: May 07, 2012, 05:46:45 PM »
The New York Times reported that train conductors have been training to use the tech during select routes since November. The addition allows passengers to load a specific bar code on their smartphone screens that the conductor can scan for tracking purposes.  Of course, passengers can still print their tickets per usual for Amtrak’s iPhones to scan.

Here's a taxi cost calculator from the con to the destination you enter;

Hmmm this is a new option, sure to be pretty crowded though when the exhibit hall closes

I saw that on Facebook, but I didn't see a schedule or a link to a schedule. Did I miss something?

All I could find so far was this article with a map of the proposed route. Probably more details will be coming soon. (One would hope.)

A shuttle that only olds 12-15 people seems far too small for Comic Con!

I tried to enter my information for the KOA campsite i'm stayinng at in Chula Vista, but it didnt' recognize it at all. Would like to see how the trolleys run from Chula Vista to the Con before I just go straight for the paid parking near the convention center, but it's all very confusing..
ANyone have any idea on if there is a trolley that goes from Chula Vista to the con?

On the Trip Planner website, did you just include the street address only in the text box labeled for "Starting Location?" (You don't have to type the whole thing out with the city, state, and zip code.)

If you are comfortable with PMing the address location and name of the place to me, I can help you out with more specific details.

^_^d You're welcome.  The Route 929 bus and Orange Line trolley would be the ones to take if you were going to use public transportation--for future reference and/or just in case.

one other note that should be made about the trolley system.  Many of the platforms are currently being redone, so there is a lot of blocked off areas.  Even the main downtown convention center was half blocked off as of a week ago.  So watch for extra safety guidelines and make sure you are in a safe area when walking or waiting.
