I tried searching through AAA, but they won't list hotels more than 330 days in advance.

EDIT: The Hyatt has a drop menu that lists AAA/CAA rate.

I booked the Days Inn Harborview on Pacific Hwy for my backup. 7/23/2014 (Wed) $224.10 + Tax per night 7/24/2014 (Thu) - 7/26/2014 (Sat) $341.10 + Tax per night. I stayed there this year (at a much lower price) and I can definitely say I've stayed in much worse places. The only thing it's guilty of is age, the decor just doesn't match itself, but the rooms are decently laid out, clean, and all rooms have a mini fridge and microwave. Also it's a 1 block walk to the closest shuttle stop, at the Hampton Inn.

I just don't feel comfortable booking yet until I for sure have a pass and know what the dates are. After all this year was a week later than last year.

You can always cancel a reservation.  I'd get it now before TP blocks everything and you're put someplace you would rather not be.

I don't have the cash on me at the moment to book any hotel rooms. I'm considering camping out outside the convention center for two of comic con's days. This year, the friends I was staying in a motel with ditched me and I tried sleeping on the sidewalk of the convention center.

You don't have to have cash to reserve a hotel room.  Sorry to read your friends ditched you: lame-os.

I'm seeing 7/21 $299  , 7/22 $299, 7/23 $299 for a double , but nothing beyond that unless you book even earlier, at a higher price 359 , that seems strange.

I have enough points now a get a free night (18,000 points), so I'll be watching closely

Saw that Costco members can book a double for $269.10/2 people, dates available 7/20-7/23/14 check out on 7/24/14.

Do you think the Grand Hyatt will have that $220 per night deal again? And how do you feel about the location? I had to stay there one night this year because the Omni didnt have my room for me Friday night. It was a long walk...

Do you think the $269 is a good as it will get, and would you book now, and try to add the days as they become available?

I believe they will.
However I booked it from Expedia using my paypal/ bill me later account. The 6 months interest free they offer can buy me time till I cancel or pay it off full with my taxes.
