Hotels on Shelter Island
« on: April 07, 2016, 11:05:17 PM »
The lottery placed me at a hotel on Shelter Island (sigh)

Anyone have prior experience attending the con while staying on SI? What was it like? How long is the shuttle ride?

Last year was my 1st CC.  I stayed at Humphreys Half Moon Inn.  The room was very nice.  The shuttle ran often, and the ride took about 30 minutes.  There were a LOT of badge holders out there.  I put the same hotel on my list.  I got downtown this time, but if they had put me at Humphreys, I would have been fine with it.

I stayed in Humphreys in 2014 it is very nice. Con or not, this is one of those hotels that fly's under the radar, my wife and I loved it there. The shuttle did run often and it ran along harbor island.. Nice view on the way to the Convention Center.

Anyone stay there before? Also going to check the reviews.

I also stayed at Humphreys Half Moon Inn. The shuttle ran often and it took about 20 minutes. I had no gripes with the hotel. There are restaurants in walking distance and Ralph's near by, but you'd need to drive since it's too far to walk.

The shuttle ride will take 20 mins with light traffic but if you don't leave first thing in the morning, it could take as long as 40 mins.
