After going to Wondercon for the first time this year, I think a trip to SWC in Anaheim would be super cool!

So happy that we won't have to wait more than a year to go to SW Celebration- and back to California where it belongs!

Attend SWCA during the day followed by drinks at Oga's Cantina @ night- who's with me?

We do know that it won't be Easter, though!

I missed out the last time celebration was in Anaheim. I won't make that same mistake again.

The previous Celebration in Anaheim was one of my best con experiences ever so I'm hoping to duplicate that.

[member=819]brand4d2[/member] - I would love to hear a little about why Anaheim was cool, as I am contemplating my first SWC.  I would have to fly across the country and I need some encouragement!   :)  Did they use the whole convention center?  Thanks...

No, but that was mainly because they had rooms upstairs for meetings, lines, and overflows and such. The exhibit hall was also VERY spread out. plenty of room to walk (and drink... that year they had beer/drink stands all over.. bad idea). I would go again in anaheim just cause theres a lot to do around the con, besides having fun AT the con, getting autographes, photo ops, buying exclusives, seeing the panels.

One of the things I liked about the Anaheim convention center for Wondercon was that if you stay at the Hilton Anaheim, you can just walk across the little plaza and not have to cross any streets.  They also had some great food trucks in the big plaza.  Cosplayers constantly were taking pics on the fountain stairs.  They also had much more seating outside and inside along the hallways.  Loved that!

I went to the Anaheim SWC and didn't love it. I'm not a Star Wars groupie though, more like a casual fan...so maybe I would have liked it a little better if I was more into Star Wars. The main drawbacks to me were that there wasn't enough programming for the amount of attendees, and most of the time they told people panel rooms were full after they started (even when it turns out that they weren't). Long lines for almost everything, even when there shouldn't have been (though I heard that this was mostly fixed in Chicago.) Also, YMMV on this next point but I don't like the area around the Anaheim Convention Center. All the meetups we went to were in hotel bars. There is nothing within practical walking distance except hotels, hotel bars, and a smattering of (mostly) uninteresting restaurants. (I thought Downtown Disney would be closer, but it turned out to be over a mile.)

I've never been to SWC before. I've been thinking about going to this and WonderCon.

Going to keep a close eye on when they announce dates!

My first Celebration was last week in Chicago and I HAD A BLAST!! I think I'm hooked, and am hoping to go to Anaheim. Having been to Anaheim for other conventions, I think it's a great location. And I totally agree that the Hilton Anaheim is the best place to stay, with the Marriott and Hampton Inn close behind. The proximity of those hotels really makes it convenient.
