one quick tip - do not pick the Pendry if it shows up on the lotto list. it still seems to be for non-attendees for the lotto despite showing up for regulars. was a waste of a slot on my request list.
I wonder if the new luxury hotel opening soon in downtown (on the same block as the Wyndham) will be part of the lottery pool, or it'll be like Pendry and only for VIPs and ballers. You are not allowed to view links. Register or LoginYou are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
I can't wait to hear someone report on their stay at ....The Pendry.
So I went in 2017 but never participated in the hotel lottery. I got a crappy hostel in uptown SD and it was miserable. So for 2019 I want to go a little fancier and get a nice place to stay. My questions are:How Bad is the hotel lottery, and would it be better to be in the early bird buyout instead?(I personally don't mind staying far, but it would be fun to stay in a hotel close to gaslamp/the convention center/somewhere with some celeb sightings)What kind of info is asked when filling out the forms for the hotel lottery? Is the process so extensive that by the time you fill out the form you are actually out of luck for booking the hotel room?Does group buying for a hotel help you get a room easier, or does it matter if you're on your own?
I hope to attend SDCC next year for the first time. So to put in good vibes with the universe, I was able to book a hotel that's just a 30 minute walk from the convention center. - in the Little Italy area. For me, a 30 minute walk ain't a problem, but for others it may be. In any event, if I don't get a badge, I can easily cancel and it's refundable.
