Loved those clips. Before today, it was difficult for me to see the actress as anyone but Lady Sansa. Another thing.. I had no idea so many of the X-Men actors have accents!
Was anyone able to get that selfie that was supposed to be Air-Dropped to iPhones? I didn’t.
I never got the pic (and neither did anyone around me), though I was upstairs and likely no where near the range of the camera.
My thoughts on the Panel:
Footage from Dark Phoenix shown at WonderCon was SIGNIFICANTLY better, more interesting than anything in the trailer. By a lot. Awesome practical effects, fun dialogue, some tension. This is a story, at its heart, of a broken family turned against one another after tragedy
This might actually be a good movie!
maybe.
And in case there was any doubt about Raven dying in the trailers? She definitely dies (and that sets the X-Men family against one another: people who think they can save Jeanne vs those who think she’s beyond saving and needs to be destroyed for the good of the Galaxy).
Director talked of cosmic elements, first alien in an X-Men film.
We saw 2 long clips, each around 10 min. long:
1. Was ‘best of times, with X-Men risking it all to save NASA astronauts stranded in space (and Jeanne ‘melding’ with Phoenix). They’re hailed as heroes nation-wide, with world’s people reacting very similar to ARMAGEDDON.
2. Was the family in worst of times, with a big set-piece battle set on 5th Avenue NYC (shot in Montreal, and it looked more like Montreal than NYC IMO). Beast is on Magneto’s side, Team Kill Jeanne. Storm, Prof X, Cyclops, and Nightcrawler are on Team Save Jeanne
Dunno about Quicksilver who was featured in the space rescue scene
