Kypton and Happy have been ordered by SyFy.

Excerpt from Hollywood reporter:
Krypton is set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet. It follows Superman’s grandfather (Cameron Cuffe) - whose House of El was ostracized and shamed - as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.

Happy was picked up to pilot in September and is based on Morrison and Darick Robertson's Image Comics graphic novel.

For the People (Shondaland legal drama)
The Gospel of Kevin (ok I like that title - lol)
The Crossing (set 250 years in the future)

Good Girls sounds like a really fun show. However, replacing Perkins is ridiculous.

This looks interesting....Deception.

From THR: Deception effectively is a procedural version of Now You See Me. The drama, reuniting Blindspot EPs Greg Berlanti and Martin Gero, revolves around superstar magician Cameron Black who turns to the FBI after his career is ruined by scandal. He becomes the world’s first consulting illusionist, helping the government solve crimes that defy explanation and trap criminals and spies by using deception.

Sounds good. I loved the TV show The Mentalist, which is a bit similar.

Mentalist? **spoiler**  yeah pretty gruesome strangling scene...and then lives happily ever after with the captain, which I saw happening since the pilot.

This one has potential.  I liked the young boy in the trailer and I thought the mom was good too.  I think she pretty much nailed the accent.  Looking forward to it.  Thank you for the link [member=314]Transmute Jun[/member]

I loved The Mentalist, and I still miss Cho!
Back on topic-another crime solving consultant? There sure are a lot of them on TV (Even the devil himself, lol!)
It does sound interesting though.

Why does no one ask when procedurals will end, but they ask when fantasy and the superhero genre will end?

Have you guysh eard about this one? It's basically a Star Trek parody from Seth MacFarlane. Like Galaxy Quest, but sillier.

I'm guessing this one might be at SDCC?

Interesting and engaging takes on some of the new shows coming up soon.  Regarding Star Trek Beyond, though-- I am continually annoyed and even dismayed at how easily Star Trek canon has been placed aside...trampled upon even, and this show seems to move along those lines.  It saddens me greatly.  Will I give it a chance?  Sure, I give all trek a chance.  Am I encouraged?  No.

Nice recap.

I have a lot of doubts about Gospel of Kevin.  Jason Ritter seems like a nice guy, but he has lousy luck with TV pilots.  This one doesn't look very good.

The Orville will have to be a lot funnier than the trailer to work.

Nice write-up; very helpful in figuring out what shows to look forward to.

The trailer for Orville looks very funny; I thought it was a movie. Not sure it can keep the comedy going over multiple episodes. I did like Galaxy Quest, but it would have made a terrible tv show, IMO.

Saw the pilots for the Orville and the Gifted today. If you are a Seth McFarlane fan, the Orville should be entertaining.

I had mixed reactions to The Gifted. I thought they set up the story quite well, the older Mutants were quite interesting  and the two main kids did a good job. The problems were the attempts at brevity that seemed totally out of place, and Stephen Moyer's acting. It didn't help that I originally heard his name as Stryker (the villain of X2) rather than Strucker so immediately thought he was an anti Mutant crusader.

The Orville was a little better than I expected (my expectations were low, understanding that the best material would have been shown in the preview). But good enough that I will continue to watch it.

I enjoyed it too, but I am not sure what they are going for. It wasn't as spoofy as I expected. There were some really funny moments though. I will keep watching (probably on DVR though-it conflicts with Teen Wolf for a few more weeks)

We went to the panel at SDCC, and they said that they were trying for more than just comedy. Spoof comedy will get you for a few episodes, but they wanted to have an interesting ongoing plot as well.

as a Trek fan, what i like is that the characterization aren't the normal perfect people in STNG- i really like seeing folks who are struggling with normal human issues-
