How to Create a Member ID
« on: March 10, 2017, 03:28:45 PM »
Here is a quick guide on how to create a Member ID for Comic-Con (and WonderCon) badge registration for any new forum members and first-timers attending.  (We had an older thread for this, but I made a new one to "refresh" the topic a bit.)

Member IDs last forever!  You just need to create it once, and you can keep using for any Comic-Con (or WonderCon) badge sales.  Please note that Member IDs do not guarantee you a badge.  It's just your personal registration "account" that is linked to your badge to identify who you are.

Check out CCI's short video tutorial on how to create a Member ID here:

Some quick tips:
  • Make sure your name, address, and phone number are always kept updated and current!
  • Do NOT "opt-out" of e-mail correspondence from CCI.  Log in to your Member ID.  Choose "Change My Preferences/Unsubscribe" and make sure that "Email Opt-Out" is NOT checked!
  • Make sure you select the proper "Membership Type" when your make your Member ID.  Your options are as follows: Adult, Active Military Duty, Senior (60+), or Junior (13-17).  The badge pricing is different for each Membership Type.
  • For more information on "Child" badges and children transitioning into "Junior" badges, please check out the information here: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login.  The deadline for the child's age for having a "Junior" badge varies each year, so please make sure you're aware of the date!
  • If you plan on purchasing a badge for anyone (including yourself, your friends/family, and juniors), you must have his or her Member ID AND registered last name when the registration sale opens. You will not be able to purchase a badge for them without their unique Comic-Con Member ID and last name.
  • Please check the Comic-Con website (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) frequently for updates, and follow them on Facebook (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) and Twitter (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) for important Member ID registration and online sale announcements.
  • Keep an eye on our forum community as well!  We have many threads for advice and discussion to make your badge-buying experience better.  Have a look around, and feel free to ask questions!

Member ID

Because we hope to deter scalpers and improve the efficiency of the online registration system, we are requiring that anyone who wishes to purchase, apply, or register for a Comic-Con badge must sign up for their own valid and confirmed Comic-Con Member ID.

A Comic-Con Member ID is free and available to all adult and junior (ages 13 to 17) attendees with a valid and unique email address. Children (age 12 and under) may not register for a Comic-Con Member ID.

By signing up for a Comic-Con Member ID, you'll receive official updates, important registration announcements, access to selected sales, and other information about attending Comic-Con affiliated conventions and events. You may also receive emails from our registration partners regarding Comic-Con registration and from our hotel reservation partners regarding hotel information for Comic-Con conventions and events.

HOW TO REGISTER

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

You will need to provide basic contact details when you register for a Member ID. Registration will be temporarily suspended - without notification - before and during badge sales so please register well in advance.

Member ID registration is free of charge and only takes a few minutes.

You will receive an email confirmation when your registration is complete. If you do not receive an email confirmation within 48 hours of registering, please check your spam folder. Your Comic-Con Member ID is not eligible to participate in badge sales until you have confirmed your email account.     Your chance of buying badges is not influenced in any way by the information you provide during registration. Member ID registration does not reserve or guarantee you a badge.

Duplicate Member ID registrations will be automatically cancelled.

Important Terms and Conditions

By submitting a registration for a Comic-Con Member ID, you are consenting to your personal information being retained by Third-parties involved in administrative or operational aspects on behalf of Comic-Con. Your details will be saved for future badge sales and you will receive periodic registration and website administration updates from Comic-Con.

Please make sure the email address you provide is one to which you have long term access.

Should you wish to unsubscribe from the Comic-Con Member ID database, please log in to your Member ID account and select the "Cancel Member ID" option. Please note that unsubscribing will mean you are no longer eligible to purchase, apply, or register for a Comic-Con badge, and will need to re-register should you wish to buy badges in future. If you have already purchased a badge for Comic-Con, that badge will be canceled and the purchase price, less a 10% processing fee, will be refunded if the membership cancelation was requested before the refund deadline.

Children (age 12 and under) may not register for a Comic-Con Member ID.

Registration for a Comic-Con Member ID does not reserve or guarantee you a badge. A Comic-Con Member ID is required to login to the online registration system only, and does not increase your chances of purchasing, applying or registering for a badge. Your chance of buying a badge is not influenced in any way by the number of times you register, or the information you provide during registration. Multiple registrations will be deleted.
You must register for a Comic-Con Member ID in order to be eligible to purchase a badge. Also, anyone applying for press, professional, guest of professional, trade professional, volunteer, staff, or exhibitor main contact badges must sign up for a Comic-Con Member ID before they can request to register for a badge. If Comic-Con determines that you purchased or registered for a badge, but did not register for a Comic-Con Member ID, Comic-Con has the right to cancel your badge and refund any amounts paid, less a 10% processing fee, at Comic-Con's sole discretion.

Comic-Con will periodically review all Member ID accounts and if duplicates are found, they will be automatically deleted. You may not register for more than one Member ID account. If a deleted account had an associated Comic-Con Badge, that badge will be automatically canceled, less a 10% processing fee.

Although Comic-Con makes efforts to ensure the purchase of badges is easy, efficient, and equitable, Comic-Con makes no guarantee, warranty, or representation that, by logging onto the Web site with a Comic-Con Member ID, you are entitled to or be able to purchase a badge. Due to the limited number of badges and the large volume of Comic-Con Member ID holders, badges are sold as long as they are available. Please be advised that Comic-Con badges sell out very quickly. Not all persons eligible to purchase a badge will be able to purchase a badge. Additionally, Comic-Con makes no guarantee, warranty, or representation that the Web site will function properly throughout the badge sales process. In the event that the Web site malfunctions, Comic-Con will try to rectify the problem in a timely fashion. Notwithstanding, by using the Web site you agree that IN NO EVENT SHALL COMIC-CON, ITS PRINCIPALS, AGENTS, REPRESENTATIVES OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OF THE WEB SITE OR THE BADGE SALE AND REGISTRATION PROCESS.

A Comic-Con Member ID has no monetary value. By registering for a Comic-Con Member ID, you agree not to sell or trade your Member ID and further you agree that if you do so, Comic-Con has the right to cancel your Member ID. Comic-Con reserves the right to refuse admission, to refuse service and/or to cancel/revoke your Member ID and/or badge at Comic-Con’s discretion.
