Forum Housekeeping:
Added to alyssa's title modification by changing "CCI Hotels Disscussion, July 21 to July 24 2016" to "CCI 2016 Hotel Discussion, July 21st to July 24th" (moved the "2016" to the front to make it easier to read at a quick glance.

If you play around with the dates, you can book Saturday the 23rd till Tuesday the 26th for $399/night. At least it guarantees you a room close by on the busiest night

We stayed at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Sunday 5th-Wednesday 8th for a prepaid rate of $169 a night. They did not make us change rooms on Wednesday.

I did the same thing last year at the Wyndham Bayfront. Paid $129 a night for Mon - Wed. Again we didn't have to change rooms. I think they actually upgraded our first room to the SDCC room type. That was not a prepaid rate either.

I did the MGH $169 a night pre-paid, too.  Also Tuesday the 7th and Wednesday the 8th were offered for a prepaid rate of $212 a night and up at one time.  For now the end dates starting at $299 are a bit high, but unless it is prepaid, you can always change to the lower rate.  I did several times on my end dates this year.  Remember to check any discounted rates you may be entitled to often.  That dropped my rates even more.  This goes for all hotels, so watch here and on you hotel and booking sites for better deals up until you are checked in!

Thank you, that's good to know! Unfortunately, it is prepaid with no refunds or cancelations. :(

My kids are totally for staying downtown again, now that we have been downtown I doubt we will stay further away. Son really liked staying at the Hilton Bayfront but my daughter would like to try for the Hard Rock. My only complaint is that at the Hilton you are far away from the Gaslamp Restaurants.

Looking through the main Marriott site, I noticed a couple of new hotels opening next year in February. You can't book any rooms yet. But you never know, sometimes the newer hotels have rates that are a lot lower than standard rates.--

They're part of a new development being built north of Broadway, between N. Harbor Dr. and Pacific Highway.

"The Lane Field North Hotel Project consists of a dual-branded hotel that will be developed on Lane Field, the former home of the Pacific Coast League Padres. The development will include a 253-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott and a 147-room Residence Inn by Marriott. There will also be approximately 27,000 square feet of retail space and parking for more than 400 vehicles. It is a $130 million project."

To anyone that stayed at the Omni, how much was it to stay Wednesday-Monday?

The TP rate at the Omni this year was $269 per night for a king bed.  With fees and taxes, the total came to $302.80 per night.

The Omni has been consistent in raising rates by $10 each year, so that will most likely continue until the rate freeze goes in effect.

I've got a Studio at Gaslamp Plaza Suites for the whole week.

It has a mini kitchen and free breakfast every morning on the roof.

I haven't listed it yet. The buyer will be required to take the full week.

I plan to ask $1500 for the week. It has a bed and a pull out couch in the room. Max 4 people.
