it could be argued that some of the hammerstein ballroom panels are infact better than some main stage panels.

It does not say how the hammerstein panels are being handled, cleared after each panel or sit and stay, if the former I think they should institute main stage rules and if the later then they should institute empire stage rules. Though to be honest this really only affect less than 1% of the con attendees

I think they need some big panels to attract more attendees there.

There are 30 min breaks between the panels. The hammerstein is a little smaller than the main stage with 2200 seats. So that might be enough time to clear panels.

Now I do have a question if they have dates for NYCC 2016 and beyond. Specifically is the plan to always have NYCC the second weekend in October?

NYCC has been held in October since 2010.  The reason the dates varied in earlier years was because it was a new event, and Reed had to take whatever dates were available.  Once they "proved themselves," as it were, in the eyes of the Javits Center people, they were able to reserve the same time every year.

I think this was addressed to Brian on the one a year back but thought I'd ask in case anyone missed it.

"Is there a chance of the Empire Stage being emptied out in between panels? I know it may be a bit impossible because there's no queue hall  next to it like Main Stage. However, how about just clearing out a room after a panel, having people line up for a specific panel...so on and so forth."

BTW that question arose when someone on Twitter and NYCC FB was complaining about camping out in ES and proposed the room be cleared out just as I described above. I personally found the answer Brian gave reasonable (there's nowhere to queue people and forgot about that people will possibly stick around (after getting their wristband) to line up in same line to be first into the room so they can get a good seat.

Is this really a pervasive major issue at NYCC?? I can speak to experience over the last 2 years that I did not see much of this. As a VIP I was able to get into any line at the get go of any booth/vendor. Was your experience different? Did you get shut out of something?

Yes, last year there were 15-20 Exhibitors on line at the Image Booth for the Wytches variant; as well as a bunch of Exhibitors who were either a private CGC company lines up for a signing at Marvel, and lining up for any tickets event.

There were also at least a large number of Exhibitors waiting at the Viz booth for Obata ticket signing; with this year Kishimoto gonna be there, it's likely they will monopolize on that as well.

The problem also occur at the artist alley as well; where an those with an exhibitor pass would fill in on to the commission list of various artists -- and leaving no chance for anyone who enter at showfloor opening time to be on at all, when it's already been filled.

And, yes, this problem have occurred for many years now, even if you have a VIP pass.

I would like to know how the UA badge holder prioritization will impact the autograph line for general holders.

Thanks

How will "first come first served" autograph signings be handled? Will fans have to line up for hours in advance? What will prevent fans from holding spots for 20 "friends" or others from cutting in the line?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Due to family obligations the interview with Mike Armstrong won't be 'Live".
We will be doing a live show on Sunday for the airing of the taped interview with MikeA.

As a result any further questions likely won't get addresses in the interview.

Well done!
I appreciate you all for holding this interview and I thank Mike Armstrong for taking the time to answer the fan questions.
I was a bit disappointed that he seemed to pass the buck on a lot of questions. A lot of "that's up to them" and "we can't control that", etc. Honestly, you can control (or at least ATTEMPT to control) some of the issues that were brought up.
Que sera.
I look forward to seeing the "first come first serve" answer in the coming week "as the studios let them know. (My gut feeling, we'll get no definitive answers and it will be chaos as usual lol)
