How would we reconfirm?

So they are sending to sets of emails out? One to confirm your selection and one to ask you to reconfirm your selections?

this sounds very clusterfrakery

Just called TP. They said the emails are only going out to the people who had problems.

So the real question is... since this year was such a screwup, what will they do next year?

Revert to last year's system/servers where at least the form submission process worked?

Or change the whole system entirely, making it an Epic-style lottery where people go in and submit forms (or even choose actual hotel slots based on remaining availability)?

Stay tuned...

Wait, so they're giving you 24 hours? Does this mean that the results emails will be 24 hours late?

This is such a mess. I can't wait for the annual Comic-Con "Suggestions" panel... already shaping up to be a doozy.

Didn't some people already get the confirmation emails that had nothing to do with issues? If so I would say anyone answering the phones right now knows only bits and pieces, is guessing or can't say anything.

At this point, it's much too early to tell what they will do for next year's hotel sale.  Right now, I'm sure their main goal is to focus on the current hotel sale and try to alleviate whatever they can with the current circumstances.  As of right now, they've decided to ask people to re-submit their six hotel choices.

I called and talked in person and no email.  I am betting on it being sent tomorrow though all this talk is causing me concern.

For next year, I can see them implementing a new system designed to not have this year's flaws but only to find that new flaws are introduced.

Sadly that seems to be the case yearly as there are virtually zero facets of SDCC that go off without a hitch.
