The “Pennyworth” Experience
« on: July 10, 2019, 12:15:58 PM »
Thursday July 18 – Saturday July 20 at the Oxford Social Club, 435 Fifth Ave.

Just a few blocks north of the convention center is this activation based on “Pennyworth,” the upcoming Epix series about the younger years of Batman’s butler. The event takes fans to a recreation of 1960s London, where they’ll figure out a secret password to gain entry to a seedy high society club, play black jack, take photos and enjoy live entertainment, and experience a mock up of the secret headquarters for the show’s shadowy Raven Society. Plus other “Pennyworth”-related scenes.

The “Pennnyworth” Experience is open to the public from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, and from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Friday July 19 and Saturday July 20.

i am sure it will require a keen sense of observation to look around for clues or, at the very least, the ability to hear the person before you say it.

This is the best offsite this year.  It's in the same tradition as the Blade Runner and West World offsites.  They built a world with atmosphere and good actors for you to visit for a while.  This is my favorite type of comic-con experience.  The performers in the nightclub were the best part.  It wasn't just one thing.  They had different performers and I never saw the same performers twice.  I was there for a while.  Drinks, cookies and chocolate didn't hurt.

I just might try to go back for a bit tomorrow.  I'll have to see how long the line is.
