I'm in after all.
After fussing about the price of floor seats, I made the mistake of telling two friends (who I thought would also say they were too much but didn't) so I caved.
They still had good seats available hours after the presale started so now tickets are purchased & date put in calendar.
I figured I would have paid that for 3 shows anyway so I feel less guilty.

are you guys on the floor [member=307]newbie12[/member] ?
I can't imagine standing up after a day at con ...but... i'm likely going to change up my con again next year so i may not be attending the early morning floor rush.
who knows maybe i won't be lucky enough to get tix this year & just come in for this show

Yep, we're on the floor. Even though my old bones (& joints) yell at me the next day, I can't sit through a concert (unless forced or its classical  ;D)
Since I want to stand and I don't want to be standing in front of someone who stays seated, I'll only go if I get floor or pit tickets

I've gone to concerts during the con before and it wasn't too bad, I just had to keep moving because if I stopped and relaxed, I wouldn't be able to get going again. It sucks to get old.

I had hesitated trying for San Diego because who knows what will happen with tickets/hotels for sdcc but figured I'd work it out either way. Can't wait for the show though, it should be great!

I wonder how they are going to handle the parking for this event since most of Petco parking is taken up by either offsites or SDCC parking?
I guess everyone could come in via trolley, but is that realistic given the numbers?
Yeah, IMO this is going to be the trickiest: there are other lots Petco typically uses that aren't in use for SDCCI but if they're on hold for ticket-buyers that puts a strain on parking for Comic-Con.  Also, parking will be on the pricier side.  I went to the Petco Park Paul McCartney concert in June and it was around $45 to park (which is close to Comic-Con parking for the same lot, the tailgate lot a few blocks over).  For concert-goers unaware of parking issues during Comic-Con, this could be a very not-fun experience for them

Wonder if this will restrict any of the pop ups that are typically on the parking lot for the stadium.

I haven't seen either Green Day or Weezer since, like, 1994 or 1995 (Green Day 1994, Weezer 1995).  I first saw Green Day open for Bad Religion while promoting Kerplunk! and then several times on the Dookie tour.  Weezer I saw twice on the Blue Album tour, one of those in a club that holds, like, maybe 500.  My memories of both of those bands are so shaped around a fairly intimate club environment (I literally hung out with Green Day in Cincinnati before a club show, and then again after the show) I think it would be too weird for me to see either one of them nowadays.  Also, Friday evenings are bad for those of us who plan on doing Hall H Saturday.

But, in my experience over the years, seeing bands during Comic-Con is a blast!  Have fun to those going to the show, and may your concert-going experience not be too crazy because of the Comic-Con mash-up!

I considered this one but ultimately decided against it due to the time. 5:30 is kind of early, and there has been so much good programming later in the day the last couple of years I’d hate to miss out.

If you went later in the show you'd only be missing the warm up bands.

My friends and I got tickets the day tickets went on sale, we're so amped! It's been a bucketlist for my friend to go to a Green Day concert forever, so she's so excited.

Nah they have to go as a different band.  It's just like how you don't wear the shirt of the band to the show.
