Ok, I'm totally giggling like a 13 year old over the condom comment.

Necessities for me:  portable battery charger for your cell (since it will no doubt drain trying to check twitter, text your friends, upload photos, etc), power strip, sewing kit and duct tape for cosplay emergencies.

I cannot emphasize enough how the number one most important thing in my pack is my extra battery.

I posted on this thread February 15, 2015, but I think it bears repeating.  Keep in mind you don't have to bring EVERYTHING I suggest.  These are just all things I think we should think about when coming to Comic-Con.

Anti-perspirant.
Purell anti-bacteria hand sanitizer or baby wipes.
Vitamin C tablets.
Smartphone charger.
Power strip.
Earphones for your smartphone so you can listen to music or watch videos without disturbing the people next to you.
DSLR camera with flash (puts your smartphone camera to shame).
Charger for your DSLR camera battery.
At least two memory cards for your DSLR camera.
Protein snack bars.
Bottled water.
Aspirin.
Imodium.
Pocket tissues.
Writing pen.
Sharpie.
Sun block.
Listerine breath strips.
An apple and/or an orange.
Collapsible camping chair.
Knapsack/backpack to carry your gear.
Scotch tape.
A few extra lanyards.
Notepad.
Plastic sleeves for your autograph pictures.
A poster tube.
Small first aid kit.
A book.
Playing cards.
And try to bring enough cash & loose change with you before you leave for your trip as ATMs at the Convention Center charge ridiculous fees.

I always bring at least two power strips. Between four of us there is a LOT of tech being recharged every night (including many, many portable chargers.) Additionally, as we're often closer than our friends, we have friends taking tech back to be charged or people using our portable chargers.

Last year, I bought a couple new ones (and two for my office at work) that have a lot of outlets USB charger outlets, and quick charging ones, and it was so nice, because I usually end up with more mini-USB-USB cords than actual chargers for them.

Also, make sure to test any power strips to make sure all outlets are working etc. because I definitely brought one that was dead once. And if you haven't looked into new power strips that might fit your needs more (such as mine for USB outlets etc.), it might be a good time! (My co-workers are constantly using both in my office and my old office to recharge phones etc.) They can fairly inexpensive too.

I'm definitely adding mints/Listerine strips to my list this year. I'm not a big mint person and it's not generally a concern, but you never know if you'll want one or someone needs one.

I additionally recommend eye-drops (I think I did before), as needed. Some people need some for allergies, dry-eyes, contacts, etc.. Two years ago, I had an issue with a contact super irritating my eyes and I didn't have any eye-drops on hand, regardless of type, but one of my friends happened to have some and it was fantastic.

Not something to bring to the con, but I make an online checklist every year for my personal group of four people. I trust them to remember basic packing, they all need to do so often enough. However, things like remembering to bring cash (for smaller vendors or giving money for take-out runs) and especially requesting smaller bills, etc. can be harder to remember until you need it.

Woot! has got some inexpensive self-inflating sleeping pads today, You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, that might work for overnights on the Hall H line.

They have two different models in a couple of different sizes.

My DH has one like that which he uses to sleep out on the lawn. He really likes it, and it's relatively compact. Combine it with a pillow and blanket from the hotel room and you're good to go!

I'm glad I was of some help!  I saw a similar list before I attended my second con in 2012 and it was very helpful to me as well.

Safety pins.

Several times I've lost my badge because it got detached from the lanyard. So now the first thing I do is to attach a safety pin from badge to lanyard as a precaution.

OH! That would be brilliant if you're trying to secure something for some shade in the Hall H lines, like a tarp or sheet or something. I was thinking about maybe a UV blocking tarp for the purpose, just in case.

I'm a Hall H line junky. An umbrella (for sun) has made its way to the top of my list.

Our umbrella was a life saver last year!  Or skin saver, at least.  It was HOT!
