When did you cancel and what hotel was it? Trying to cancel one night at the Intercontinental but the hotel is saying I can’t get deposit back, (I’m trying to offer it here on the forum as a last resort)
My hotel rooms were at MMM.My friend had luck with changing the days at a hotel from Wednesday to Sunday and then calling the next day to cancel it and get their deposit back since it fell within the 7-day cancelation policy for that hotel.Obviously it might not work and might just be a special case for them. What day is your hotel for? Sent from my ZTE A2017U using Tapatalk
I just checked in at MMM. For anyone staying here, they have moved the Starbucks over to the bottom of the North Tower, near the entrance to the old Nintendo Lounge/where the GoT Beer Bar was in previous years. The old Starbucks location at the top of the escalators now looks like the con-event beer place. Also, no resort fee on the OnPeak portion of my reservation!
Aww, so there really is no Nintendo Lounge this year?
It's the eSports Lounge this year.
Aww, I was hoping they'd have both like last year. Thanks!
Yeah, I just checked, and my confirmation from MMM in 2018 listed the fee, but my final bill didn't include it.Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
Aww, so there really is no Nintendo Lounge this year? Also, do you find out if there's a resort fee one you check in? Still has it online, but I suppose it doesn't matter until I'm actually there.
Turns out I was wrong about the Nintendo Lounge... it is on the maps they posted around the MMM lobby this evening, in the same place as always. When I checked in, the person at the check-in desk (who happened to be the front desk supervisor) said that there was no resort fee on my OnPeak days, only the days I booked direct.
Heads up to those who are staying at MGH and paying with AMEX: you may have a special offer on your card to get $60 off a purchase on $300+ at any Grand Hyatt (it does not include other Hyatt brands such as Regency, Andaz, etc.) In order to qualify, you must log onto your AMEX account, go to the offers section, and click to add it to your card. This morning when checking out, I added it and split my bill between that and my regular card, and received the credit.(Also, I can confirm that they did not charge me the $25 destination fee per night during SDCC. I asked but they said it did not show up at all.)
