Junior/Adult?
« on: January 23, 2013, 05:23:43 AM »
Hi everyone, sorry to bother, I hope this is the right place to ask!

I went to last year SDCC with my parents who had Professional badges so I was given an extra one. My parents are not interested in coming back this year and I wasn't sure if I would go by myself so I didn't go through the August Pre-Reg. Now I think I'll try my luck at the regular sale because I had a blast last year. The thing is I'm 17 and I will turn 18 in April, so after the badges go on sale but before the con. When I go to "Change my preferences" on the member ID website it reads "Juniors are not allowed to change their Membership Type. Our system will periodically change qualifying Juniors to Adults automatically based on your birthdate on file." So I guess (and I think I've read something about it somewhere) that if I'm still 17 by the time badges go on sale, I can score a junior badge. But then will I be able to pick up a junior badge by myself? I mean do you need to have your parents or someone with an Adult badge with you if your membership type is Junior?

this is the right place to ask<grin>

you will be a jr, since it's the age at the time of the sale.
No you don't need an adult when you pick up your badge, just some sort of ID.
Good luck in the sale, <findagrouptojoin!>

Just make sure you have a valid credit card to be able to pay for the badge when you go to purchase it.
...you had me at hello...

alyssa - Ok, thanks a lot! I'm a bit anxious about the sale but I've read all the infos I could find so at least I won't be unprepared.
Yeah, I saw that you could ask to join a group here so I'll probably do that, it could increase my chances.

kvthai - Yeah, I think I have this covered!

Thank you Transmute Jim!
