Just found out that my best friend who's going with me to SDCC for all 4 days is bailing out on me for Thursday to go shopping in Vegas instead (TOTALLY saw this coming though)!

So I'm going to inform SDCC about getting it refunded and hopefully it benefits someone

shopping in vegas is overrated - there are outlets outside of SD that are comparable...

Hahah well Vegas is actually one of my favourite places in the US (next to NY which I try to visit almost every year) but my priorities are different because I love Broadway, theatre and all sorts of shows and concerts, which Vegas has PLENTY of.

We both haven't been to SD but I find the service in Vegas impeccable. They remember you even when you're a tourist who only comes by 1-2 times a year and I think my best friend already had her shopping list set aside for her at specific boutiques. Which explains why she suddenly called me today to help her get a badge refund because "Sorry babe but I just booked a flight out to Vegas!! ENJOY THURSDAY ON YOUR OWN!!" ...have a feeling she may take a couple days more to be honest. :P On the upside this frees up more badges for ardent SDCC fans.

If she's only going on Thursday, there are still 3 more days of the Con. She can still come.

FWIW, I went solo in 2009 and had a fantastic time... also a lot more sleep!

I don't know about giving up a four-day badge just because she's missing the first day.  There's no guarantee you'll be able to snare Friday, Saturday and Sunday badges in the post May 15 resale.  The only way I would give up mine is if I couldn't make it the first three days.
