I was up in the air between 6th and13th.

I've got something going on the 6th, but it won't be a big deal if I go until after pre-reg. I guess I chose the later date because CCI was all about "later" last year lol

No idea really, but I picked the 13th because...well...because it's the 13th.

You know, there's something in me that really appreciates that reasoning... ;)

They just announced it would take place sometime in the Fall, so I'm guessing no earlier than September 27.

Honestly, I want it to be in February. I won't be hurting for cash from various other cons and the holidays by then. But who knows what SDCC will do  :P. Hoping it is at least not Oct 11th (NYCC) or August 30th (DragonCon).

Can't rely on dates for when the seasons start when it comes to San Diegans. Remember their whole idea of spring? Didn't it end up happening before the actually date spring starts. Or am I imagining that. I don't remember the specific details.

There's only two seasons in San Diego: Summer and Not Summer. heheheheh

I sincerely hope they don't pick either October 11 or October 18.  That's when I'll be in the Big Apple for New York Comic Con and I may not have reliable Internet connection then.

Game changer:

Comic-Con International 2014 may be over, but don’t throw away all that swag just yet! You’re going to need your physical Comic-Con 2014 badge to qualify you for Comic-Con 2015 preregistration this fall.

If you purchased a badge for Comic-Con 2014, you may have noticed a “Badge ID” printed at the bottom of your badge. Keep this number safe, as it is the key that will unlock 2015 preregistration for you! Sometime in the next couple of weeks you will receive a very important email from Comic-Con with instructions on how to enter your badge ID online for preregistration validation. The validation period will only be open for a short window of time so keep an eye out for this very important email or bookmark Toucan, the official blog of Comic-Con International, WonderCon Anaheim and APE. We will post helpful registration hints and tips on the blog in the weeks preceding preregistration.

If your Comic-Con 2014 badge does not have a “Badge ID” printed at the bottom, it is likely you attended under another category that is not eligible to participate in 2015 preregistration. Professionals, guest of professionals, trade professionals, exhibitors (and exhibitor-purchased attendee badges), volunteers, staff, complimentary passes, and press are not eligible to participate in online preregistration. Online registration for these categories will occur at a later date.

Please be sure to "opt-in" to email correspondence to receive all Comic-Con 2015 preregistration announcements. To review your opt-out selections, visit You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and log in to your Member ID account.

Probably sooner than September

Maybe? But I'm reading it as the "verification period" will open when they send this email, in a "couple of weeks". I think they'll then give us a week or two to verify before actual pre-registration. I'm still betting September.

i venture to say, with all of this attention cci is putting on pre-reg, it's gotta be sooner than later.  More like Sept than Nov, in other words.  I'm not ruling out Oct but... I think cci just wants to get this (to quote UKdeejay) 'done & dusted'

i also think it points to a per-approval requiring that code from our badges-  that could happen long before the actual sale takes place.

So we should all go back to wearing our badges at all times until the verification email goes out?

I'm not sure this is a 'game changer', but it might weed out a few people who do not pay attention and input their verification codes during the limited window of time.

As an aside, this would be a great time to double-check that you have a badge ID number on your badge. When my husband went to pick up his 4 day badge on Wednesday at the T&C, he got back to the hotel and I reminded him to take a picture of his badge and the code... but there was no code. Seems the printer feed was a bit off when his badge was printed and the code was cut off. He went immediately to the Sails (where Preview Night badge distribution was still going on, so the 'badge assistance desk' was manned) and was able to get an immediate replacement.

If you look at the bottom of your badge right now and do not see a badge ID number, but think you should have one (i.e. you were a paid attendee last year) then contact CCI immediately. They should be able to help you resolve the matter.

I know I will be checking mine and my daughter's badges when I get home. Hopefully, they will let us verify the information before we buy our badges.
