FYI-it's called a badge reel (at least when I bought one). I only know because I hated what we used at work, and went in search of my own.

An FoCC one sounds great!

That second one would work, you could hook it onto your lanyard pretty easily since the lanyards have the lobster claw clips. I always double lanyard and hook both, just to be safe. The past two years I used FOCC and SDCC lanyards together

This one looks even more secure and nice. I think I will order a couple, that clamp should hook nicely to the end of a lanyard. You could go right through the cloth loop at the end of the lanyard.

I actually saw that one while I was looking at them [I think I completely missed your post though somehow.] They have a similar model (same company) but instead of a kevlar cord I think it used a braided metal cord. I might have to buy one of each and do some testing.
