Apart from the artists below listed on the CCI website, anyone have a head's up on artists that are confirmed for CC? Always bummed that Artist's Alley/Exhibitor lists aren't posted until just a couple weeks before the event.
Would like as much time ahead as possible to line up my batch of comics and save up $$ for sketches!

Are we focusing only on AA? Or any artist who will be there? If its the former, I'm pretty sure they list out the AA earlier than a couple of weeks before the con. If its the latter, there will be hundreds of names to parse through, but we can try to keep them all organized. So here goes my attempts.
Besides Mebberson, Andy Price, Katie Cook and Tony Fleecs (All MLP comic artists) have stated they will be there.
James Silvani (Darkwing Duck) is also taking commissions.
When I get home, I will provide links to their confirmations (I recommend going forward that be done so if anyone is interested, they can contact artists to do pre-convention sketch orders). There are also dozens of artists I can think of the top of my head who will likely be there, although I have no proof (most big named DC and Marvel artists usually show up as well as perennials like Stan Sakai (Usagi Yojimbo), Greg Evans (Luann), etc).
Edit: Here's Andy Price: https://twitter.com/AndyPriceArt/status/345938429269401600
Katie Price: http://katiecandraw.typepad.com/ (Has Comic Con listed as one of her upcoming cons)

I have no doubt Livio Ramodelli will show up.
-
i believe Rob Liefeld will be there too
-
>Sigh!< Chris Bachalo never seems to do convention appearances. Kenneth Rocafort would be cool to see as well.

Adding confirmed artists at AA and also they're taking commissions prior to SDCC as well.
- Mike Choi
- Eric Canete
- Dave Johnson
- Matteo Scalera
- Andrew Robinson
- Marjorie Liu
Feel free to add in artists in AA as well as the small press booths. I know that I missed out on some awesome artists since they were listed under their Studio's name which I have no clue about.
Also some artists/writers sign at specific booths as guests so they're not announced on the SDCC lists at all. Writer Marjorie Liu announced she'll be at SDCC signing at one of her publisher's booths.

I'm moving from AA to a dealer table across the hall this year, table c-05 at the back of hall A. I can see the list for AA, small press and exhibit areas in the password protected exhibitor portal but I can't repost since it's not officially public yet. But if you want to ask me if a specific artist will be there according to the current lists I could check for you.

I didn't realize you were an artist! Are you just taking commissions or will you be selling anything specific at your booth?

My schedule is too tight to do commission work right now, unfortunately. If I try to draw at the con I start blabbing with people and don't get anything done. You can see my stuff at rockfeatherscissors.com I'll have a bunch of prints and originals at my table and the art show, also Offworld Designs carries some T shirts by me, they have 2 booths usually. Oddly, you can also see my work down the street from the con on the antique carousel at Seaport Village, I did all the paintings around the middle, it was my first big professional job. ;)
This is my newest Offworld shirt: More cartoony than normal for me, but it's a very personal piece that comes from the heart, hehehe. http://www.offworlddesigns.com/coffee-dragon-t-shirt/

LOL, I love that shirt! I will be sure to check out your booth during the Con!
And how cool that you painted the carousel! That must have been very fulfilling, knowing that so many people would enjoy your work, for years to come.
-
Thanks! :)
The carousel work was rewarding but there's only so much of it that needed doing, I did the paintings around the top and middle of the one at Santa Barbara's Chase Palm Park and a few others as well.
Mostly I show my work at con art shows, plus a few ren faires and an art fair or two.

Just saw Noah will be at booth 1419. He's the new artist for Disney.

Do you know if Phil Noto is listed?

I checked the Artists Alley, Small Press and Exhibitor list and didn't find him. Last year he was in the J Scott Campbell Booth which is listed as being there, so I'd just ask at his site. The booth listings aren't detailed so the artists who will be at the booth aren't listed individually at this point.
-
Met David Wong yesterday and he will be at SDCC but not in Artists Alley.
-
Aragones is a really legend....
-
Not sure if this belongs here but Brian Pulido "Lady Death" will not attend SDCC after 23 straight years.
-
well I have seen Nick Pittara (artist on Manhattan Projects) will be there, also Francesco Francavilla has said he's thinking of taking pre-con commissions
-
Not sure if right spot for this but, Circus Posterus has their info avail.
"The circus will be taking over the Cardboard Spaceship booth #5346 on Saturday, July 20th. Filling the booth with awesomeness and dorkiness are the SDCC go getter (and sometimes doctor after a night at the pool) Chris Ryniak , Amanda Louise Spayd (making her first trip ever to SDCC), and after a year’s hiatus, it is a pleasure to announce that Brandt Peters is coming back to the con!"

artists alley is up on the Comic-Con site now

not helpful that they have some artists as exhibitors

Found out today that CCI revoked my dealer's table, gave it to someone else and put me back in one less than half the size in artists alley. I will post when I know where I'm ending up on the floor , because it's still up in the air. But I will persevere! And hope to see some of the people from this group there! :P
-
great list of comic guys

Wow, what's up with that? you've been getting a table for a long time, right?
-
I have no idea, they have me listed in three places so I emailed to take care of that and found out that a third party cancelled my table, they resold it without asking if I still wanted it and it's too late to do anything other than find a table for me in AA. Thankfully, they did not revoke the badges from my helpers so they can still come, even though I'm no longer entitled to them, I checked and they can keep them. I'm angry, but there's not much I can do at this point besides wait and see where they put me.
-
Comic Con has granted me booth 1634 on the dealer floor, what a roller coaster, but now I know where I will be! Yay!
-
wow, whew- glad that's taken care of!
1634 seems like a prime location...<grin>
-
I'm quite happy. And I should have room for a couple chairs so if anyone needs to sit down come by and say hi. ;)

A place to sit? Dibs! Dibs!
-
Heheheh, someone should make a lounge booth with comfy overstuffed chairs and charge by the minute. It might be the most popular booth in the con. ;)
-
i've often thought someone would make a mint with the 10 min massage chairs

They have those I think.

It's been in the works, but I can now announce that Dan Goodsell (Mr. Toast) is going to be hosting Bob Burden (Flaming Carrot and Mystery Men, to name a few) at his corner booth. Please go say hi and see what Bob is up to these days. He's got the best stories!
It's a battle between Drunken Carrot and Flaming Carrot! :)
-
Just throwing this out there, but has anyone heard anything on Steve Purcell? I saw his name associated with TR!CKSTER, but it's hard to tell in what capacity based on the limited info on the website...
-
I really wish there was a definitive list of every artist there.
I know there is a list for artist alley but for example when Friday schedule was put up and i was reading through the list I noticed one of the first panels has an artists named Brom. Now he is going to be at Gen-Con this year and is someone I wanted to meet and get an autograph/sketch from. I looked to see where he was listed but other than that panel no where; so I went to his site and saw that he will be at the con and at a booth. Coming from NY its not like if he is there I can go home and bring the book I need for him to sign and since I hadn't seen his name I wouldn't have brought that item with me.
I guess logistically CCI can't get everyone but I wish there was a spot where booths could add who is coming and that list could be easily compiled.

It's not 100% complete I'm sure, but this website has been trying to track all the various artists (both with tables and without) that will be making appearances at SDCC:
https://sites.google.com/site/comiccreatorsappearances/
It's the most complete collection I've seen so far.

That appears to be mostly comic creators, they left off fantasy and sci fi artists so it's only partial.
