Anybody at the Marriott? Drinks?

Sounds nice but I'm at Disneyland. Have one for me!

While I had fun cosplaying both yesterday and today, did anyone else find that WonderCon was particularly weak this year? For me none of my artists were in attendance this year, and the panels were super weak. I'm one to book and double book a ton of panels, but this year I barely scheduled 8 panels for the entire weekend. Hmm I wonder what was up....but again cosplaying and seeing all the cosplays was awesome.

I found plenty to do.

Friday early afternoon was spent on the floor, including the Smash tournaments at the Nintendo booth, and then Star Wars panels from 4-7 pm.

Saturday started with author panels, including Naomi Novik whom I really enjoy, Antiheroes (with Neal Adams being captivating as usual), Adventure Time Comics, iZombie, a bit more floor time, Orphan Black, Nintendo Street Passing panel, and the Masquerade.

Tomorrow I'm going to hit the floor, probably do one more Smash tournament, then get in line as early as needed for the Flash panel in the arena.

That's three shows I'm really enjoying right now, a great comic, and lots of interaction from a company doing a booth really well (Nintendo). Plus all the fantastic cosplay....it's been a great weekend.

Update: If you wanted to do the Flash signing, get here now. Line already long. Not super long but it should get there closer to 9.

I was at the Talkback panel and saw Dolphina and Alyssa. Thy announced that next year WonderCon will likely be in LA, at the convention center there. They do not yet have specific dates. I specifically asked about Easter and they said that they never purposely planned to do Easter, but for various reasons it has worked out to be the best weekend over the past few years.

I was there too. Yeah, interesting panel for sure. The SDCC hotel stuff was also interesting for me, and they wanting a big place as well. Might mean zip, but you could tell that they are getting annoyed at those hotels giving them trouble.

Five-and-a-half minute video clip of my experience of WonderCon 2015 on Saturday, April 4, 2015.  At the start, attendees lining up for limited signings ticket drawings for "Teen Titans Go," "iZombie," "Gotham," "San Andreas" and "Orphan Black."  At 00:14, Hall C of Exhibit Hall. At 02:07, Hall D of Exhibit Hall.  At 03:09, cosplayers outside of the Anaheim Convention Center. Finally at 04:07, introduction of the cast of "iZombie" at the Arena for the "iZombie" panel.

Back home in Vegas now and we all had a blast at Wondercon, there was a lot of ppl on Saturday    Did the iZombie signing and Q&A, Gotham Q&A and rest of the time was just on the floor. Anyway Friday was Disneyland twilight, Sat at the con and Sun was beach and travel home.
Next year in downtown LA and I'm checking out maps to see what hotels are nearby. Not sure if we want to fight traffic downtown.

This was my third WonderCon and my daughter's second, I found it very gratifying that she spent so much time in Artist Ally. She ended up buying 4 prints and I bought her a fifth one that she REALLY liked. She did this without me, on her own because she enjoyed it  ;D

This WonderCon was a huge success in my book. Sadly, I will NOT go to downtown LA for WonderCon next year and that news kind of left me feeling sad. It's just so inconvenient to go DTLA, so they can keep it next year.

Cosplay was great as always. Just a nice, nice time. Got to meet up with lots of forum folks too!

I really enjoyed the Orphan Black panel, nice touch to give everyone there a little bag of buttons/pins.
However one small gripe was at the signing the item the studio provided was a small postcard that only had #cloneclub written on it.
Even the cast signing it were commenting on the strange choice, especially when the back cover of the program book had a great Orphan Black poster.

Every other signing the studio did provide a nice 11x17 poster, I was very lucky and pulled a winning ticket every time, except on the first day with Salem.
But I got in anyway after asking nicely.

Hold up ... Rewind ... WonderCon in LA? Did they say why they would leave Anaheim? Also I have to ask any comment on a show up North?
