When Earthlings Become Martians: National Geographic's Mars, Season 2
Room 7AB

The prospect of colonizing Mars and becoming an interplanetary species has never been more palpable. As the second season of National Geographic's Mars, the genre-busting hybrid event series, returns this November to explore this reality and whether humanity is doomed to repeat the same mistakes once we get there, join the show's foremost experts on terraforming the Red Planet along with new and returning cast as they give an exclusive sneak peek at what's to come. The panel, moderated by author and Forbes.com contributor Jennifer Kite-Powell, will feature experts including Dr. Stephen Petranek, award-winning author of How We'll Live on Mars; Andy Weir, bestselling author of The Martian; Susan Wise Bauer, historian and author of the History of the World series; former NASA astronaut and author Leland Melvin, and cast members JiHae (Mortal Engines) and Jeff Hephner (Chicago Med, Code Black). In addition, they'll discuss the major conflicts ahead and get real about repercussions of every singular action and decision Earthlings will make when they become Martians-from having babies, to catching colds . . . even to experiencing love and sex on Mars.

12:30pm -  1:30pm
2001: A Space Odyssey 50th Anniversary Panel
Room 6A

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE) and the Arthur C. Clarke Society take a look back across a half-century (and the distant universe) to celebrate one of the most iconic films in history. Panelists will examine Stanley Kubrick's science fiction masterpiece. Kubrick's Academy Award-winning achievement is a compelling drama of man vs. machine, a stunning meld of music and motion. For the first time since its original release, new 70mm prints were struck from pristine printing elements made from the original camera negative. A longtime admirer of the late American auteur, Christopher Nolan worked closely with the team at Warner Bros. Pictures throughout the mastering process. Building on the work done for the new 70mm prints, the 4K UHD with HDR presentation was mastered from the 65mm original camera negative. 2001: A Space Odyssey will be available on 4K UHD from WBHE on October 30.

I Can Fix It
Room 7AB

Have you ever watched a movie and wondered, "How would I do this differently?" Some of the most skilled minds in entertainment are thrown some of the most flawed examples of Hollywood mega-franchises and asked what they'd do differently. But there's one catch: They can only change what they need to make the movie work. No pitching a whole different story!

7:00pm - 8:00pm
Popular Science: Beyond Entertainment
Room 6DE

Since its launch in 2003, the MythBusters television show has entertained audiences around the world. But MythBusters was never intended to be solely for entertainment purposes. Rather, the show and its iconic pop-culture hosts have sought to highlight the science involved in discovering the truth behind popular urban legends. Kari Byron, Tory Belleci, and Grant Imahara discuss MythBusters and compare notes with local scientists on the scientific methodology for experiments and why failure is not only encouraged but also a necessary part of research and discovery.

Supergirl 1984: The Warner Archive Collection Blu-ray!

A generation before Kara Zor-El conquered the airwaves, a soon-to-be-legendary actress made her motion picture debut as the "Maid of Might" in a big-screen follow-up to Superman: The Movie. As a fan-favorite phantasmagoria, Supergirl arrives in heroic high definition at last from your friends at the Warner Archive Collection (WAC). The original Supergirl, Helen Slater (The Secret of My Success), alongside her Jimmy Olsen, Marc McClure (Superman, Back to the Future), and WAC podcasters George Feltenstein, Matt Patterson, and D. W. Ferranti shine the super spotlight at this caped wonder and reveal what's in store on the new Supergirl Blu-ray release. Moderator Gary Miereanu will have goodies for some lucky fans.
