If I recall, Star Wars was Friday and MCU was Saturday in... I wanna say... 2015?

Marvel skipped that year as D23 was happening that year. It was only Lucasfilm on Friday.

But we should probably get back on topic on GOT.

Marvel did have the Big Infinity War panel in 2017 and had D23 in the same year, but  D23 was before SDCC that year I think. We got the highlight reel at D23 and the same for SDCC and the Marvel Hats were given out.

Way back when (1982 ish) , the Star Wars panel was always on Saturday at SDCC . I just remember seeing a slide show for "Return of the Jedi" back then.

I wouldn't mind a retrospective panel at all but it would just be weird for them to not bring anything from the prequel show since they're already filming. Also wondering if this panel will go back to back with a Watchmen panel.

Pilots aren’t guarantees that there will be an actual series and I think they would first have to show it to the powers that be before moving forward with any marketing for the general audience. After all, There have been plenty of seemingly promising pilots that were never picked up: the 2004 Dark Shadows revival with a young Jessica Chastain, Locke and Key several times.  Some also need to be completely reworked.  Big Bang Theory originally had no Penny and Sheldon was a lot more we’ll adjusted.  And of course, Game of Thrones famously redid the pilot and cast different actresses for Daenerys and Cat.

I think schedule announcements will be pretty interesting this year.  GoT and HBO have always dominated Friday mornings in the past.  However, with WB vacating prime Saturday mornings, is there a possibility of HBO moving to Saturdays?  That would probably shake things up.

HBO has often split up there properties. True Blood and GoT were never together and last time they were there, Westworld was on Saturday.

Good point.  Like a lot of people, the natural assumption is that GoT will be in their usual Friday slot.  I'm just wondering with Saturday morning's open how that might have a domino effect.

I can see GoT moving over to Saturday to fill that massive hole by WB and Marvel.

Great news!

I saw this panel in 2013 and it was definitely a highlight of the convention for me.

I've gotta say, I really didnt expect GOT to return after having finished their run.. especially after the negative reception! I'm still glad, maybe I'll have better luck with the signing this time around. Very curious to hear what their panel will be about, questions included!

Will be looking to see if there is any other confirmation that GRRM will be attending. He hasn't attended SDCC the past few years.

I wonder if there will be a return of the Game of Thrones experience - I sincerely hope so.

Ooof. If I was D&D you couldn’t pay me to show up. (I didn’t personally hate the ending as much as some, but I’ve been to plenty of panels where fans participating in the Q&A have no etiquette and can’t see this one going particularly well)
